No where is it suggested they have “spotters”. They are likely alerted of lightening in the area or active lighting and it is under there control when to hit the alarm
Re: #3 Hopkins vs Lehigh Sunday @ noon
Dude, please. Anish and Q went into great detail explaining the weather/horn in the last segment. If it was "automated" it would have been the first freaking thing mentioned in the context of the conversation.coda wrote: ↑Sun May 12, 2024 2:13 pmMost rec fields have an automated lightening sensing systems. I highly doubt Hopkins has 4 spotters sitting on top of the stadium looking for lightening with horns in their handsmasondixonlax wrote: ↑Sun May 12, 2024 2:07 pmcoda wrote: ↑Sun May 12, 2024 1:49 pmThat confirms it’s automatedHooz123 wrote: ↑Sun May 12, 2024 1:46 pmcoda wrote: ↑Sun May 12, 2024 1:45 pmI am pretty sure that is mechanical thing, not human thing. It just goes off, when the sensor is activated. Just bad luck for LehighDebitLaxPlayable wrote: ↑Sun May 12, 2024 1:35 pmI agree that it wouldn’t have 100% been a goal, the horn probably messed with the goalie as well… but they did blow it when the Lehigh player had the ball at 5x5 and a step on his defender. Should have waited the second or two for him to shoot or pull the ball out before blowing it
lol no it's not. 100% human "error"
Before they went to break I thought you could hear the ref talking to PM and Lehigh coach sounding exasperated saying he told them to blow the horn at a dead ball if there was lightinging

Next 3 quarters: more JHU goals or FO wins?
Re: #3 Hopkins vs Lehigh Sunday @ noon
Angelus trolling Lehigh back. Love to see it.
Re: #3 Hopkins vs Lehigh Sunday @ noon
I highly doubt John’s Hopkins would sign off on letting the ref override the system and wait for a dead ball. That would set up for a hell of a legal issue, if someone was injured by lighteningmasondixonlax wrote: ↑Sun May 12, 2024 2:16 pm No where is it suggested they have “spotters”. How is that Hop ball?
Re: #3 Hopkins vs Lehigh Sunday @ noon
there's 0% chance it was 3 seconds before a shot.
for anyone that actually knows, hoo is in control of the clock, and hoo is in control of any horn at an nc$$ game on campus? nc$% official-type, or the host?
regardless, it is extremely shady.

Two aggressive dodges and an enlightened ref call … two goals.

there is very likely no automated system in play here.coda wrote: ↑Sun May 12, 2024 2:19 pmI highly doubt John’s Hopkins would sign off on letting the ref override the system and wait for a dead ball. Ignorant people here trying to say Homewood freaking field has an automatic weather alert system. Nice job Quint:
crapping on dmids as the Lehigh SSDM misses a shot.

Go Lehigh!
Re: #3 Hopkins vs Lehigh Sunday @ noon
Lehigh player stepped a solid foot into the crease on that groundball scrum. Can't say they aren't getting any calls!

Blue Jays are playing with more energy and aggression, but those late-possession goals by Lehigh are killers.
Refs are doing a great job. Stop complaining.
