Any list with 1000 HM AAs seems watered down
That’s why the IWLCA list at the end of the season hold more weight .

I feel like that's more a factor of how many people vote on it than anything else. USA Lacrosse says they consulted with coaches around the country to make the list, but it would be nice to know a specific number. Would also be good to know if they forced coaches to submit lists, or are just taking the names that get the most feedback and making them AAs and then putting others who some coaches brought up as HM.

How does having 12 AA attackers for 1st/2nd/3rd team combined and 38 honorable mention attackers make any sense - 38! Honorable mention should be 3-5 players that just barely missed the cut. Feels like we are giving everyone a trophy in my opinion.

These lists make me so mad. So many HM, Syndi Black as an HM is absurd. She is a second team AA for sure. Madison Taylor should be switched with Erin Coykendall. Peterson on the first team is a joke.

We are. And now everyone can say they are an "All American". There is a huge diff from 1st team AA to HM
imo.

There aren’t 50 attackers better than Kokoro Nakazawa form Louisville. I watched her play a bunch of times this year and she was their whole offense. On a good team, she would be talked about a lot more.

I'd switch Thacker (1st Team) and Nalls (2nd Team). Both great defenders and players, but I think Nalls has a harder job within the UNC defense (than Sam does within Denver's), particularly this year.

Completely agree. Thacker had an injury season ending after game 12. How can she be a first team all American particularly given Denver’s defense this year hasn’t been particularly notable? This is a “reputation award”

Is she a great backer in Denver’s zone defense? Absolutely. Did her body of work this season merit a first team AA placement? No chance.

Stat sheet says so. First time in 7 games. And didn’t start. Wonder if she’s in a brace or just playing through the injury given this is her last year and she can get surgery after the season. I watched the game off and on and didn’t even think to look for her…

Honestly probably a better list than most years. I'd make a few changes

I'd have Pavelini 3rd team at a minimum, same with Collignon from yalem both over teammates who made 3rd team.. And you can't convince me that Laliberty isn't one of the top 9 goalies in the country.

Also some of the womens listed at midfielder aren't close to 2-way players. But I know I won't win that argument.

There is nothing to argue about some middies not being 2 way middies. It is obvious. Just watch games. EM from SB never crossing restraining line watch her Stanford or Denver game. Impossible to be great middy and have only a few caused TO's. Just watch games. ND player also attacker that plays D on rare occassion - watch most ACC games. Again look at caused TO's. They are scorers/attackers. Label them correctly and true middies like Weeks or Spillis become 1st Team.

IL posted their All-American list. Can anyone explain how Kayla Martello from BC is not on this list? She is all over their games but never on these lists, other than I believe the Teewraraton watch list. I'm beginning to wonder whether there's something personal with her and the coach.

First Team
A Rachel Clark, Jr., Boston College
A Izzy Scane, Gr., Northwestern
A Madison Taylor, So., Northwestern
A Jackie Wolak, Gr., Notre Dame
Draw Kate Mashewske, Gr., Syracuse
M Chase Boyle, Jr., Loyola
M Ellie Masera, Sr., Stony Brook
M Cassidy Spillis, Gr., Rutgers

I'd have Pavelini 3rd team at a minimum, same with Collignon from yalem both over teammates who made 3rd team.. And you can't convince me that Laliberty isn't one of the top 9 goalies in the country.

Also some of the womens listed at midfielder aren't close to 2-way players. But I know I won't win that argument.
Agreed on Laliberty (should have been HM, at least) as well as the high profile "middies" who are really attackers. You can see it clearly in game play and from their stats.

I'm a NU supporter, BUT, with a 43% Sv. Pct. Molly Laliberty should not be on any All-American list. She didn't even make All Big Ten. Also, Shea Dolce(BC) should not be AA either. Why? As an individual(that's what AA is based on right? Individual play at a position?) she's not a top line goalie either. She's the starter on a top ten team, but her Sv. Pct. is a little over 45%(46.2).
I still do not understand why in Women's athletics, mediocrity is rewarded and celebrated at times.

NutmegCrunch, go look at their numbers and maybe you will convince yourself about who the top Goalies are.
