Quite a big win. Haverford beat a very good Malvern Prep team twice this year. Both were very close. When Malvern played St A's earlier this year, they won 7-4. Glad I don't making a living trying to predict outcomes.JoeMauer89 wrote: ↑Sat May 04, 2024 2:49 pm St Anthony's 10 Haverford School 7 Final
Huge win for Friars on the road in Philadelphia against the previously unbeaten Fords!

Got to hand it to the boys from St. Anthony’s, they are fearless and take on all kinds. Curious, has anyone told them it’s not a real school yet?
Re: Long Island 2024
St Anthony's is certainly a real school. The only point I make is that we should not pretend they are the same as zoned public schools when they take the best players from districts all over Long Island.
At least they don't do the reclass nonsense as much as others.

Northport v Port Washington Saturday - score anyone?
Re: Long Island 2024
Not a real school? In the eye of the beholder, I guess. Ledyard, Bunnell-Stratford and Lewis Mills-Burlington...now those are REAL SCHOOLS.

Re: Long Island 2024
cancelled - will not be made up
HHH beat Huntington 16-7 today to remain unbeaten - 1962 was the last HHH team to win Suffolk and LI title - that's also 62 years ago

Re: Long Island 2024
Guessing neither coach wanted to risk injury for a meaningless non-league game at this point. Still disappointing.
Re: Long Island 2024
Northport-Hills tomorrow likely for the Suffolk A 1 seed. This is a big deal as the 1 seed will avoid WM in the semis (all three teams handled likely 4 seed Huntington easily in the regular season).
Thoughts? Seems like a contrast of styles here and the Tigers may try to slow it down and make it a possession game. A one goal either way I think.

Very well playedkr522 wrote: ↑Tue May 07, 2024 9:24 amIn other words, we’re as close to that title as the year 1900 is. They’re definitely due
Re: Long Island 2024
Well Chaminade hung with the Friars for a while but St Anthony's pulled away for a 10-6 win and another sweep of the Flyers.

Re: Long Island 2024
New format started last year. There is a deciding third game only to break a regular season tied record. St.Anthony’s won both regular season meetings. That means no third game.
