I give mads and co a tin of credit for maintaining belief and playing with urgency. Mads isn’t talked about a lot but he’s building something in NJ. 3 straight ncaa tourneys and 2 straight ILTs. All with a very young team. What a treat this season has been. Also have to say I feel for the other ivies on outside looking in. C, Penn, Y would be worthy selections and it must be a tough pill to swallow.
Forgot to mention this in context of losing 7 guys due to covid rules playing on other d1 rosters at very high level. Great job coach Mads.

I'm not sure who would grab that last at-large over Penn, to be honest. They certainly have a deserving resume.

I'd like to see Penn get that last AL bid. There should be some consequences for a tournament beat down like PSU was handed yesterday. I also wish the committee gave more emphasis to late season wins than early season wins. The difference between winning in late April/May vs February is night and day at times.

Wow. I didn't realize he had Penn State out.

I figured PSU bricked the game against Michigan, assuming they were already a lock. If so, and if they then didn't get in, that would be hilarious. (Not that we'll ever know, of course).

Personally, I'd like to see UVA left out; IMO Penn State is more deserving than Virginia. And as long as we're leaving out teams for suffering beat downs in the conference tourneys, seems to me to be worse for getting thrashed in the semis than in the finals.

That was my take,

Penn State tanked - they were over confident coming in.
You can't assume anything when it comes to the NCAA - as the Ivy teams know well - which Tambroni will learn the hard way if Penn State is left out.

Some would say 18-11 is quite the beatdown, too.

It's not 16-4.

Putting up 4 goals as a division 1 lacrosse team is unspeakably bad.

Welp, it went as we thought once Yale and Cornell lost in the first round of the ILT and top seeded teams lost in the Big East and Big 10 tournament. I enjoyed watching a competitive slate of Ivy League games this year. Sincere congratulations to Princeton and best of luck to the Tigers in the NCAA tournament. I think they are certainly capable of beating Maryland if they play as they have been for the last 4 games.

First time since 2017 that the Ivy is a one-bid conference, and the first time since 2014 that Yale doesn't make the dance.

Go Princeton Tigers!!

Still having a hard time accepting how the math worked out that the Big Ten is a 4 bid league and the Ivy is a 1 bid league. Just doesn't seem to comport with the reality of watching every week.

Pretty good considering the relative locations' travel and the fact the host team lost the first night.

If you get a bit deeper in the weeds and really follow RPI, it tracks more. This year having two Ivies (Dartmouth and Brown) with losing out of conference records (Brown 1-7, Dartmouth 3-4) with some losses against lower-RPI teams (Dartmouth lost to #58 RPI Bucknell and #59 RPI Stony Brook; Brown lost to #40 RPI Quinnipiac, #34 RPI Providence, and #33 RPI Bryant) meant that the bottom two teams in the Ivy League had RPIs of 42 (Brown) and 56 (Dartmouth). Meanwhile, the bottom two teams in the Big 10 had RPIs of #27 (Rutgers) and #22 (Ohio State).

For the past few years 6 out of 7 of the Ivies have generally had a pretty good RPI -- to have two league teams below RPI 40 really acted as an anchor on the RPIs of the other teams. Penn beat #2 RPI Duke; Cornell beat #4 RPI Syracuse; and Yale beat #6 RPI Denver but in the end that wasn't enough -- each of those teams really needed one more signature out of conference win and just couldn't get it. Yale let one get away against Penn State and Cornell lost a heartbreaker against Notre Dame -- had either of those teams won that additional game (particularly for Cornell) it might have been a different story.

Ivy League got hosed in tourney. Not sure what they can do about when teams like umd, psi and uva can throw up all over themselves at the end of the season and still get in. Ivy needs better advocates, clearly, when it comes to this process.
