What about the ACC: ND, Syracuse, VA, & Duke are all ahead of us?

Re: Cornell 2024
Don't have the requisite 6 teams to get an AQ. It's admittedly a bit of an oddity because all of those teams are safely in.

BTW, I'm not sure how, but LacrosseReference has us "bubble in."

That site is using its own selection criterion (RPI-based Strength of Record), which is (1) not an official selection criterion, and (2) has no evidence that it correlates with past committee decisions.
Re: Cornell 2024
If we are upset tomorrow we must not have Michigan beat the only potential AQ (PSU) ahead of us. Losing tomorrow makes the teams directly behind us dangerous to take our At Large. The game I am most perplexed about is Yale/Princeton. If Yale wins we should not need to worry about them but could Yale take AL from us if they lose to Penn even though we won H2H. Or if Princeton wins we should not worry about Yale but could then Princeton take AL from us if they lose to Penn even though we won H2H with them.
We need to just win to put an end to all these head spinning formulations.
I hope that Mikey Long is completely healthy and Knurst continues his stellar play.

Not to jinx anything, but the last time Cornell won the ILT, it was behind exceptional goaltending by Christian Knight. Friday's Cornell game will certainly be a battle between two of the best goalies in the Ivy League.CU 73 wrote: ↑Fri May 03, 2024 12:12 am If we are upset tomorrow we must not have Michigan beat the only potential AQ (PSU) ahead of us. I just checked. Lacrosse Reference now has the Big Red "safely in." But I defer to CU77's expertise.Ezra White wrote: ↑Thu May 02, 2024 11:35 pmAh. And Knust wasn't the goalie last time.faircornell wrote: ↑Fri May 03, 2024 12:32 amNot to jinx anything, but the last time Cornell won the ILT, it was behind exceptional goaltending by Christian Knight. laf also has Cornell in top 8 selection-wise, but updated prior to the conclusion of the last B1G game last night.

Re: Cornell 2024
Not to be redundant with prior posts, but here's my take on the implications of last night's games:
-Denver was always in, whether as an AQ or at large. No harm no foul.
I initially wanted Georgetown to beat Providence; later regretted it, as if Georgetown had been upset, they probably would have been a bubble team out. Regardless, I always expected the Big East to get 2 teams in, so if Georgetown gets the AQ, again no harm no foul.
Big 10 - As stated in a pior post, "we" need PSU to beat Michigan. If Michian gets the AQ, it eats up an at large bid as MD, Hopkins, and PSU are all locks.
*Need Army to win the Patriot AQ. If they lose, they could be a bubble in for an at large.
Bottom Line - depending on what Cornell does in the ILT, they could go anywhere (as high as) a #7 seed to not in at all as a bubble team out.

Re: Cornell 2024
But Tully wasn't the reason we didn't win that game.
Re: Cornell 2024
But I think all that changes if they don't win tonight.
Even with a win tonight, a Michigan win in the Big 10 tourney could render the Ivy League a one-bid league, as shocking as that is.
Either way, after last night, take care of business tonight or I think this whole thing has a bad ending.

Re: Cornell 2024
Your comment sparked my interest. I knew that Christian Knight was the tournament MVP. I checked his stats for the two games. He made 36 saves for a 75% average. Certainly Knust-like statistics for the 2018 ILT.laxfan1313 wrote: ↑Fri May 03, 2024 5:14 amAnd Knust wasn't the goalie last time.faircornell wrote: ↑Fri May 03, 2024 12:32 amNot to jinx anything, but the last time Cornell won the ILT, it was behind exceptional goaltending by Christian Knight. Re: Cornell 2024
No Long, unfortunately. I thought he would play based on Buczek's quote in the Sun yesterday.
Re: Cornell 2024
Had similar thoughts. That said, it's not whether Long is healthy (spoiler: he's not), but whether Long at x% is better than Caddigan at 100%. Gotta trust the depth.
Re: Cornell 2024
Carroll is seeing the ball well. This is going to be a tough game.
Re: Cornell 2024
On the plus side, Bozzi and Wallace are back.

Penn is grinding down our defense. Slowing the pace of play.
