Concerning the college protests: "Zionists are suddenly concerned about illegal settlements."
Re: Israel and Zionism
GMAFB. Please do us a favor. Just STFU and go away.If you are the parent of a young Jew who wants to go to Columbia...do you let your child go there?
Jewish parents have always, and in the future will continue to, enroll their kids at Columbia in HUGE numbers. Duh. 22% of Columbia's undergrads are Jewish.
Back when those parents were in college, Columbia was over 40%. So all those kids doing encampments on the Columbia campus during the Viet Nam protests (of which Columbia is very proud)? Lots of Jewish kids. The leader of those protests? Mark Rudd -- a Jewish kid from New Jersey.
Private, liberal, urban colleges have always had large Jewish enrollments, you moron. Especially in the northeast. BU, Brown, NYU, Columbia, Penn, GWU, Miami, Emory, Tulane, Northwestern, USC.
I'd think Jewish parents might be more concerned about sending their kids to, say, a school like UVA (through no fault of that school). Right winger anti-semites seem a lot scarier -- torches plus "Jews will not replace us!" chants at Unite the Right in Charlottesville. Fine people on both sides...
Boycott stupid. If you ignore the gator troll, eventually he'll just go back under his bridge.

The main aspect of the protests is to oppose the killing of innocents in Gaza. Which concept huge numbers of Jews in America and Israel agree with.
Significant majorities of Amercians and Israelis oppose Netanyahu and his conduct of the Gaza war.
34,568 Palestinians killed and 77,765 wounded in Israeli military attacks on Gaza since October 7. Two thirds women and children.
According to UN estimates, if the current military operation were to end immediately, are that it would take Gaza until 2092 just to restore the GDP levels of 2022.
The death toll in Israel from Hamas's October 7 attacks stands at 1,139 with dozens of people still held captive.
Both horrible. You forking moron.

...so why don't the Israelis vote for a new coalition govt with a new PM ?
The fighting will stop if & when a majority of Israelis decide that Hamas has been degraded sufficiently to no longer pose an existential threat.
Any well meaning campus protesters lose all credibility when they join antisemitic protesters, symbols, or content or allow them in their midst.

Re: Israel and Zionism
Useful idiots indeed. A good number of them have NO idea what they are protesting about. It's probably just cool to hang out in a tent and convince yourself your making a difference. Who would of thought on the campuses of elite liberal students that hatred and anti semitism was so veral? Who would have thought these bright and brilliant young minds were so easy to manipulate? Useful idiots may be an understatement. Mommy and Daddy must be so proud of them. In one embarrassing incident a mob of wanna be Palestinians refuse to allow a young Jewish student to walk to his class. They blocked him and intimidated and harassed him. All things that are part of a " peaceful protest". Fer sure fer sure good buddy.old salt wrote: ↑Fri May 03, 2024 2:58 amThese protesters are clowns. “ Around 11 p.m., a group of masked counterdemonstrators made their way to the Royce Quad in the heart of campus and began to attack the encampment set up last week by demonstrators opposing the war in Gaza. They threw a firecracker into the encampment, tore down its outer walls, threw heavy objects at demonstrators and instigated direct physical confrontations. Those in the encampment were left to fend for themselves against a violent band of thugs intent on inflicting damage.”
“ Over the course of our hours on the front lines, I estimate that more than 90% of the verbal and physical instigation came from the agitated counterdemonstrators, a fair number of whom spoke Hebrew and appeared to come from outside campus. The anti-war group had yellow-vested personnel who maintained discipline and sought to deescalate when the threat of violence arose.”

Curious. Columbia and CCNY will control this information?
“The mayor was asked to provide specifics again on the local station NY1 and declined to do so by offering the same analogy. When pressed to provide further details, he said his office had “turned everything over to the school, and it is up to the school to determine if they’re going to release the names of students and non-students”.

Masked counter demonstrators??? In case you haven't noticed everyone involved in this chit show are keeping their faces covered. Y'all keep making a pathetic attempt at trying to redefine what a "peaceful protest" is. You have inserted just enough flexibility to include violence and intimidation as a new form of " peaceful protest" Talk about moving the goalposts.PizzaSnake wrote: ↑Fri May 03, 2024 6:21 am “ Around 11 p.m., a group of masked counterdemonstrators made their way to the Royce Quad in the heart of campus and began to attack the encampment set up last week by demonstrators opposing the war in Gaza. Those peaceful student protesters who were confronted by the pro-Israeli thugs on one night, underwent a miraculous transformation to become the masked anarchists who forcibly battled the police the next night.
Apparently all the peaceful student protesters from the first night vacated the encampment & were surreptitiously replaced by hardened Antifa activists who forcibly resisted the police the second night.
Where was Prof Myers on night #2 ?
