Woke - being "awake" to societal problems and acknowledging they exist. Originally focused on acknowleding institutional or systemic racism. The term was used a lot in the black community.cradleandshoot wrote: ↑Tue Apr 16, 2024 8:51 amWhen I woke up this morning did that me woke?? Anybody that faces any accusation that they are "woke " recoils in horror as their rectums pucker up like a snare drum. I thought being "woke" would be worn as a red badge of courage? I've seen a similar reaction from the usual suspects on this forum. FTR there are a couple of posters that are proud to strut their FLP status. Other folks recoil in horror and their rectums pucker up at admitting their perspectives on political issues might not be as moderate as they claim.NattyBohChamps04 wrote: ↑Tue Apr 16, 2024 8:38 am I feel like most people who complain about "woke" have no idea what the definition of "woke" is.

Who's afraid of admitting where they stand? Are you "woke"? Or do you call anything you don't understand "woke"?
Right wingers now use the term for most any social problem they dislike. Women want to keep the right to vote? Woke.
