I personally think he does a great job, and it's clear (at least to me) that he works hard to provide insightful, unbiased, professional commentary. The only person I'd rather have on color is Ryan Boyle. A lot of people here are hard on him for reasons I don't understand or agree with (perhaps some of you guys have additional context through your alumni connection), but count me on the other side of the ledger as a supporter and fan.

Johns Hopkins currently at RPI #2 with victories over RPI 4 (UVA), RPI 9 (Penn St.), RPI 11 (GT), and two other top 20 RPI teams (Michigan and Towson).

I think a win tomorrow guarantees an NCAA tournament bid.

Penn State win today was good, unc, georgetown, navy and rutgers losses were not. A loss tomorrow puts a lot of pressure on May dreams.

There are 4 games left in the BIG regular season - Hopkins plays in 2 of them. It is so important to win those two games - obviously a win tonight secures either the 1 or 2 seed and allows rest from the 4/27 games BUT a win tonight also (assuming Penn State defeats Rutgers @ German Tank Stadium) locks up the #3 seed for Penn State. Which then means Penn State has to play the #2 seed in the semis if they win the first round game. And if Ohio State beats Michigan in Coumbus next week - the # 1 seed gets the winner of Ohio State/Rutgers. If Michigan wins then I think Rutgers falls to 6th and the #1 seed would see the winner of Michigan/Ohio State. Only a lose-out scenario for Hopkins potentially brings Ohio State and Penn State into the room at 3-2 with each one having defeated one of the teams and lost to the other. This one is so vital.

Tonight's game is important for a number of reasons, but the winner of Jays/Terps next weekend will be the #1 seed regardless of what happens tonight.

That does worry me a bit. The conditions are ripe for an upset — in Columbus, Jays coming off an emotional OT win, Buckeyes coming off a narrow loss and will be fighting for their lives. There's a scenario where if OSU loses they go on the road for the first round of the Big Ten tourney and run the risk of not even getting to play a tourney game in their new stadium that's hosting it. That'd be quite the embarrassment.

Still, very important game. Assuming ND beats Cornell, the Duke/UVA winner today will leapfrog us to #2 in the RPI. So we'll be #3 heading into tonight. A win keeps us at 3 and, yes, I agree with Doc in that it locks in an NCAA bid. A loss drops us to #6. Time to take care of business.

Way to bet: Duke beats UVA, UVA beats ND, ND beats Duke.

Hopkins better strap it on, they are getting beaten up on O and GBs.

Two early Ohio State goals off of Hopkins offensive turnovers.

This team won’t go far if the offense doesn’t step up into a higher gear. The O’s inconsistency is absolutely maddening.

Dreadful start across the field

Can't figure out the substitutions

Offense can't match the intensity of Ohio State and looks like it's asleep

McDermott might get left in ohio without a plane ticket home, a penalty and a ct.

Can't win faceoffs

I had to look up arteaga's number. When you're not scoring goals and winning faceoffs you play lots of defense and your rivals get to force you to use depth they can then prey on. Like him.

OSU's defense is no joke.

Their offense is not very good, but that defense has been elite this season.
