NESCAC
Re: NESCAC
Long time reader, first time poster.
First off, can we be a bit more civil in the forums? Lets direct our hate to the 19 year olds on the field, not towards each other.
The Hamilton-Midd game was not surpising, as Middlebury consistently underperforms with top-2 talent in the league every season (except for last year). Jack fried is without a doubt the best goalie in the nation, and it looks like hamilton wanted it more. Tommy Healy has to make child support payments for #0 on middlebury, as he is quite literally his daddy. Gotta show love to the rope unit for the Conts, as their dmid/lsm/faceoff unit has been making huge strides this season.
As much as I want to give Hamilton all the credit in the world for this win, Middlebury is the definition of hotdog water. No juice, no energy, no hustle, just trash. Finally, lets get Hamilton ranked. all losses have been quality (Bowdoin, Tufts, Amherst), and they have picked up two ranked wins (lynchburg, Middlebury(although not for long)). That is all.

Re: NESCAC
Anyone watching this Tufts Williams game? It was moved up day due to weather i guess. Williams went up 8-1 in the 1st quarter. Jumbos battled back to 11-11. Now starting the 4th.
What I've seen so far is Williams doing a great job of avoiding the Tufts pressure and ride. Keeping an attackman in the far corner of the field to dump it to if anyone is under pressure.

Re: NESCAC
Correct. Tufts showed a great ability to ride momentum, as they have in recent years. But that momentum was bookended by two manufactured 2-man up opportunities. The first one neeeded a 2 minute delay to be sorted out by the refs. If you need 2 minutes to convince your support staff that it’s a 2-man up, it isn’t.dannyric wrote: ↑Tue Apr 02, 2024 7:29 pm Anyone watching this Tufts Williams game? How many 2-man ups do we see on a weekly basis? Not too many, but I’d imagine most are committed by the team down big getting desperate, not the team up by 8, or 2 of them back to back by the team dominating for that matter.
Re: NESCAC
Weirdly enough, fans of potential Pool C teams probably have to root for Tufts in this one.

The Ephs are dangerous, they are inconsistent at the F/O dot and wings all season. The penalties were heavily lopsided against them today as well. May be tough in the playoffs. The NESCAC title is up for grabs this year. Depends on who gets hot at the right time.

Looking like
Vibes Sportsbook is going to need to start mining bitcoin to keep the lights on through the weekend at this rate.

They are dangerous and kudos for them for almost taking down the Jumbos.

Hahaha!! Easier to laugh now!!
Re: NESCAC
The fact that Williams lost this game having been up 8 goals is a joke. Either Tufts is that good that they were able to right the ship and get hot, or Williams is that bad to have completely imploded.
This may be the case for other NESCAC teams, but I always felt like Williams was a tough place to play as a Jumbo. Long bus ride and never an overnight. Remember the legs needing at least the first half to wake up.

Would love to see Stevenson play Endicott.
Re: NESCAC
Tufts played a horrible first quarter. Dropped passes, overthrown passes on 6 on 6. They looked looked like they were playing underwater. Once they picked up the pace, Williams had trouble hanging. Williams is a good team and could upset ANYONE in the playoffsJumboFan4 wrote: ↑Tue Apr 02, 2024 8:19 pm The fact that Williams lost this game having been up 8 goals is a joke. Re: NESCAC
Tufts has a history of sleep walking into midweek games. If you look at most of their losses to lesser NESCAC opponents (outside top 4) over the years they are frequently on Tuesday or Wednesday, often away.

Re: NESCAC
Yeah that was my bad......
I think my brain saw two average teams with similar color schemes and mixed them up
Re: NESCAC
Was absolutely the correct adjudication, if anything should have been two 1-minute penalties as I would argue that there was contact against a player with more than just their feet in contact with the ground (but that's irrelevant to the question of if two players should be in the box). In any case, what happened the lead official didn't realize that the trail had thrown a flag earlier the the play, so when he called a technical for a loose-ball push he should have thrown a second flag while also killing the play.choochooCharlie wrote: ↑Tue Apr 02, 2024 7:41 pm Correct. Re: NESCAC
I guess that explains the extraordinary delay that contributed to a huge game altering momentum switch. Does the same apply to the second 2 man up opportunity called just minutes later?SixBySix wrote: ↑Tue Apr 02, 2024 9:34 pmWas absolutely the correct adjudication, if anything should have been two 1-minute penalties as I would argue that there was contact against a player with more than just their feet in contact with the ground (but that's irrelevant to the question of if two players should be in the box).
