You play to your schedule so no issue playing Penn. As a fan of Yale and the Ivy League it would have been cool to have two Ivies in the final 4 or even in the finals. Of course, those are paths with big challenges.

As a fan of the sport, I don't have a lot of interest in watching Penn-Yale round 3, or Duke-Notre Dame round 3. Get me some new match-ups, committee! Lord knows you can't understand those reams of stats the staff hands you anyway, so at least get us fans some more interesting games ...

One hell of an accomplishment if UP beats Yale 3x in 1 year.

It would definitely be a major accomplishment for Penn. I used to subscribe to the NFL cliche that it's really hard to beat the same team 3 times in one season. A little research reveals that the team who won the first two games usually wins the third, however. As of a year ago, 13 out of 20 times the NFL team that won the first two also won the playoff game. http://www.espn.com/blog/carolina-panth ... liche-says

I do wish the committee had been more creative with the brackets. It also doesn't seem fair that Penn should have to play in CT after winning the two prior games. I realize that quarter final locations are determined well in advance, but the committee could have remedied this.

Canopener: Will we receive a score prediction on this one? It's the last Ivy game of the season.

You didn't ask me, but i'll chip in...13-12 Yale in OT. I'd be happy for either team, just feel maybe Yale is due to finally figure out/get past Penn.

Article (from a Penn perspective) on Sunday's game: https://www.thedp.com/article/2019/05/p ... as-goldner

I'm not making any predictions here. It looks like the Quakers have more seniors in key positions. Gallagher v TD Ierlan obviously key, this could/should be a terrific game.

All 4 games are really excellent, but the Ivies are headlining this weekend's slate for sure. Mostly because they shouldn't be playing eachother in the Quarters anyway...but whatever. I like Penn's chances!

Going with Penn on the threepeat 14-10. Gallagher goes 14-13 at the dot. (One goal scored as time expires at the end of a quarter so only 27 face offs.)

To make it interesting, I will provide a $25 gift card on Lax.com to whomever is closest to the final score. Now if that doesn’t generate some huge site traffic, I don’t know what will!!!

I'll do pretty much anything for a $25 dollar gift certificate at Lax.com, including jinxing my Bulldogs by predicting a 16-12 outcome in Yale's favor. Hey, you can't win if you don't play. Bulldogs are going to come out loaded for bear, and TD will be on a mission.

I'll go for the "shoot out" scenario (I was contemplating the defensive scenario 8-9). I'll take Penn 17-16, although I guess my sentimental favorite would be Yale. These are two first class programs. It will be sad to see one go home.

I'll play!... I'm with calourie on this one. Have to go with Yale, not only do I think TD is chomping at the bit to get back at this one, but the whole team. The Eli's have scored 15 or more goals in 4 of their last 5... I'll say 17-13 Yale.

Good luck to both teams and all players. Good news is we'll have an Ivy in the Semi's!

Did I say I'm not making any predictions here? Going with my heart, and also with my head, Yale 16-14.

UP 13 Yale 10. Starr not as steady as Junkin, Yale D not that of recent past. Jitters 1st quarter help hold down scores.

Tough to beat a team 3X in a year when the teams are a closely matched as these two are, but I'm going with UPenn, 12-11.

gotta go with the more solid game-in and game-out goalie.....even over Yale winning 70% of the draws.....Georgetown exposed Yale's defense....
Penn has more senior veterans ....Penn 15 - Yale 12

Got to go with Yale, 13-11, tough to beat a quality team 3 times in a season. Both teams are great teams and programs and both could (should??) be in the final 4, going to be a fun game either way it goes.

Watching UMd v UVa, I realized that 5 of the 8 coaches in the QFs are Ivy or former Ivy HCs ...
