Re: Long Island 2024
Phew! As long as they score 8 they’ll be fine. Opponent scored 7 in every game. Tough one Tuesday; Ridgefield stacked.
Chaminade goes down again 9-10 to Salesianum (DE). Big one vs. St. Ignatius Thursday.

From what I saw they fell behind 4-1 after the 1st, so they really clamped down after that. Were 6 of 19 on FOs, that’s tough. Hopefully Cromwell gets the offense rolling as the season goes on….as you pointed out, next game would be a good time to start

Kr,
Thanks for the color. This team's D is strong, it's a good sign that they have shown they can win these type of games.

This team's identity is defense and goalie. The offense will open up. They will be just fine once mid-may rolls around. Definitely going to drop a few games. But Ridgefield season is just starting (I believe its their opener on Tuesday) ,so advantage is to Manhasset having played 4 tough games already IMO.

Wouldn’t mind having Balsamo. Rare sophomore starter for Chaminade. He scored for Manhasset as an 8th grader in a State Tournament game.

Joe I’m not the Ridgefield expert, but I believe a lot of last year’s top players return, and that team gave Manhasset a tough time. It helps that Manhasset is warmed up, but this is the season opener at home for the Tigers….I hope you’re right but i’m guessing they are favoredJoeMauer89 wrote: ↑Sat Mar 30, 2024 6:23 pmFord, fordmaddoxford wrote: ↑Sat Mar 30, 2024 4:26 pm Phew! I would love to have Balsamo to, he was never going to Manhasset though. James Gillis, the other sophomore starter, is arguably just as good. He's off to a great start too.fordmaddoxford wrote: ↑Sat Mar 30, 2024 6:34 pm Wouldn’t mind having Balsamo. Rare sophomore starter for Chaminade. Fairfield Prep 8 Darien 7 OT Final. WOW. Darien was missing Pokorny and few other starter, not good if they cant get them back for Brunswick this week.
Anybody have a St Anthony's Gilman Final?

Not sure, but likely if I had to guess! Let me tell you, there is a reason they haven't played since 2004! You won't see that matchup anytime soon besides maybe a scrimmage!

Northport rolled Huntington 14-3. Huntington had opened the season beating Port Washington. We are looking good so far.
Hills 16-2 over a decent Bay Shore team. Those boys appear to be for real.

Not sure that St Anthony's Vs Gilman happened today. It's been removed from Inside Lacrosse. LaxNumbers still has it as a 2PM start, but judging that's already 8PM and no score, it must not have been played. Wonder why? Too bad.

Ridgefield 13 Manhasset 5 FINAL
Manhasset lacking cohesion on Defense tonight and are losing the FO battle, youth showing a bit tonight. Ridgefield very good ball movement and strong offense, they have dominated since the beginning of the 2nd Quarter.

Too bad though Ridgefield is very good and MHS is bound to have some growing pains….i suspect there might be a couple more of these on the schedule. Hopefully learn and grow from these games during the season to help come playoff timeJoeMauer89 wrote: ↑Tue Apr 02, 2024 7:25 pm Ridgefield 13 Manhasset 5 FINAL

Rare to see Manhasset get pushed around like that by anyone. I have no doubt that Cromwell will get it figured out, but it's gonna be tough sledding just to get out of Nassau this year.kr522 wrote: ↑Tue Apr 02, 2024 10:47 pmToo bad though Ridgefield is very good and MHS is bound to have some growing pains….i suspect there might be a couple more of these on the schedule.
