If Hop is going to slump, better the middle of the season than the end.

Ignore press clippings and polls, and concentrate on fundamentals.

Is Ayers injured? That kid needs to play more, he’s a game changer.

That’s karma for #10.

Can’t wait to see the social media posts this week.

They both hit the pipe

The team just isn't as good as they or anyone thought they were a few weeks ago

Pathetic that they couldn't clear there
This loss is an embarrassment.

Defending Homewood Field used to mean something.

Heck, the Class of 2005 didn’t lose a game at Homewood in four years.

Blue Jays got outhustled for two quarters in their first home game in a month.

What does Homewood Field mean to these guys?

Not much, it seems.

There’s no shame in losing to Navy. Navy is better than their record.

What is shameful is the way the Blue Jays lost this game.

They should be embarrassed. They deserve to be embarrassed.

Right now, Jays are playing two opponents: Themselves and the opposition.

Absolutely.

Midshipmen showed their character … outworked and outplayed the Blue Jays.

Kind of what you expect for a bunch of guys who will put their lives on the line for our country.

Congrats on a great effort and win.

I didn’t see it. Sorry. Maybe it happened. But I didn’t see it. And I don’t think anyone else watching on TV did either.
I saw it on the last replay. Hard to say if it was intenational and he was holding his stick in one hand and running hard towards the ball pumping his arms. The but of the stick hit the Navy player in teh 'groin'.

The D and Ierlan played a great game.

This loss is squarely on the apparently narrow shoulders of the O.

If any of the O read this … maybe they’ll be p*ssed off.

Well, the only folks they should get p*ssed off at is themselves.

Faceoffs went well tonight at least - nut punch notwithstanding. I still think Hopkins needs to recruit an elite FO person (be it transfer or otherwise) and another solid goalie for next year.

Ierlan did not play great. He was outplayed by his counterpart on Navy, especially late. Finished at 47%. Nothing about that is great. No one on Hopkins played "great." Except maybe Scott Smith.

He played "great" relative to the 3 statues playing on offense for the majority of the night. But agreed, overall not a great performance.

I watching without sound - so no idea what was being said by QK. Though I can imagine and I think that influenced a lot of opinions. But I genuinely couldn’t see what happened. I just don’t think you could tell from TV. People actually at the game might have seen something. But anyone who was watching on TV and saying anything definitive is full of it.

rewatched it 5 times. there is absolutely no objective evidence based on what was televised that it was on purpose. that is not to say it wasnt but i just dont understand what QK saw to jump so fast down hopkins throat when there was nothing obvious at all that you could call purposeful.

You’re wrong … Ierlan kept Hopkins in the game when Navy was dominating on faceoffs.

Blue Jays played too much D again, but they produced plenty of CTs and Ierlan saved enough to win.

Navy goalie played well tonight, but the O was horrendous in their shooting (23%) and with TOs. Melendez took 4 shots and couldn’t get even one on goal.

One thing I miss about Joey Epstein … the guy always took extra time to practice his shooting.

These Blue Jays? I’m skeptical they put the same work in. If they do, it sure isn’t showing.

Tinkering with the o didn’t yield the desired results. Bauer started at attack with Melendez moved to midfield. Later Ayers logged some minutes at attack with Bauers toggling between attack and midfield. Melendez got a little time at attack but was basically relegated to midfield. They have switched Bauers and Melendez a little in previous games, but this was the first game in which Melendez played middie most of the time.
With three goals in three quarters, it didn’t make much difference who played where in the “positionless” offense.

Aviles no history of playing dirty. Highly doubt intentional.

Last season, Melendez (37) and English (6) produced 43 goals. 8 this season and English is out for the year. That’s a lot of offense that has vanished.
