CAA 2025
Re: CAA 2024
Big game for the Pride vs UNC tomorrow , like they say in dallas HE WE GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
Re: CAA 2024
Hens, Tigers, Seawolves, Dragons all look very competitive. Should be an exciting few months of conference play. Hofstra is the dark horse, I think they can pick off any of those on any given day. Can Towson give UVA a game with that stingy defense? I think its going to be closer than people expect.
Re: CAA 2024
do visiting teams squeeze in 50 players in the hof visiting lockerroom ?
Re: CAA 2024
I believe its, among the CAA teams -- UVA twice, UNC twice and Syracuse over the next two weeks.
Someone, bump one (or more) of these teams off, please !

I have to ask given your comment and handle if you ever had any activities that would be best describe using “elephant + either circle” or “line”. Or perhaps related to the writer of an old movie called 8MM?Tightyrighty wrote: ↑Fri Mar 08, 2024 4:36 pmYes they do, you get to know your boys reallll well in that Dutch dome underneath those bleachers
Now I love those cowboys, I love their gold
Love my uncle, God rest his soul
Taught me good, Lord, taught me all I know
Taught me so well, that I grabbed that gold
I left his dead ass there by the side of the road, yeah

Nick DeMaio likes playing those top teams,
I said it last year, Terps could use DeMaio’s unique abilities,
too bad Berkeley didn’t use his last year of eligibility, I believe he’d already exceeded the number of years to complete your athletic eligibility.

Too bad for the Tigers,
just they're playing a team that is way way stacked with talent - makes it tough to hang for 4 quarters.

I think Berkeley has grandkids now.
A fraudulent intent, however carefully concealed at the outset, will generally, in the end, betray itself.

Really? It’s not age …. it’s game experience. The OC @ Va today at Halftime told Mcabe & the rest of the team to grab a sandwich. Two players w 70+ games took over . And they are great players, however you cannot put a tag on experience.Cormier & Shellenberger took over. Va will go deep obviously, but not w a 40% goalie .

Serious question and not trying to unnecessarily stir the pot (I haven’t gone through the many pages on this thread):
Does the Hofstra admin care about lacrosse? They hired a 22 year old Shannon Smith about 10-11 years ago and she’s had 4 winning seasons in 11 years and 84-91 overall. Seth Tierney got off to a great start there with 4 tournament appearances early but like Smith has 4 winning seasons in the past 11-12 years with no tournament appearances.

Re: CAA 2024
Not a very good weekend.
Out of Conference, not very competitive against UNC, UVA, St Joe’s - though the Tigers did hang in the 1st half.
This week’s Out of Conference includes Syracuse and UNC.
Also, two In Conference games, hope to get out to see the Tigers and DU.
Hens have got the highest RPI by far at #23.
So if the Hens beat Syracuse this week, that’s a bad loss for the Orange.

Re: CAA 2024
CAA is very mediocre this year.
Most improved team is Towson, by far. Offensively they are figuring things out. DeMaio has transformed his game entirely. Instead of shooting every single time he touches the ball, he has become the team’s QB. He’s not even recognizable as the same player. Opens up the lefty wing for Weisshaar. Defense is super-aggressive and will cause havoc for CAA opponents.
Most disappointing team is a three-way tie between Stony Brook (almost losing to Sacred Heart, losing to Air Force and Providence) Drexel (a no-show no effort versus a bad St. Joes team and losing to Lafayette) and Hofstra (Navy and Marist games were tough to watch).
I’d give Delaware an incomplete so far. Lots of injuries and lots of freshmen playing critical roles. If these young players continue to improve they could be dangerous. They let two games get away from them (Penn and Michigan) because they looked very young at times.
You never know what will happen in conference play but if Drexel plays Towson this weekend like they played St Joes yesterday, it’s gonna be a long day for the Dragons.
I’ll guess the four CAA playoff teams will be Towson, Delaware, Stony Brook and Drexel. Not sure any of them have a shot to win a first round game. Still time to improve.

Re: CAA 2024
I think its hard to blame a coach because he cannot recruit a player who thinks Hofstra is not the best academic fit for him . Dont you think some of those UNC players were contacted by Hof in the recruiting process? I think we'll be ok in CAA play
Re: CAA 2024
is the game at FF streamed for free sat?
Re: CAA 2024
Its the same old, same old for CAA teams.
I look at Hofstra's roster, and there are any number of solid to very good players that I have been tracking for a while, that I genuinely like. And I could go up and down just about every CAA roster and say the same. Dutch do have to look at their goalie situation.
But, as everyone already know, the top ten teams stack top 50 player after top 50 player, year after year along with top 5-10 transfers annually.
No way other conferences keep up with the ACCs, B1Gs, Ivies for that mass of talent.

this is a must win for hofstra , no if , ands , or buts
Re: CAA 2024
Hens - Syracuse
Stony Brook - UNC
Tigers - Drexel,
are the games.
On the other hand, an important conference game, Dutch - Fairfield.
Stony Brook - UNC is the (free stream) Lacrosse TV game, https://streamstak.com/lacrossetv/
Tiger - Drexel is on (local) NBC Philly.
