Now is the time, have not beaten them since 18'.

Now that Sisselberger is no longer at Lehigh, the Mids should have a major upper hand for the next few years at the Faceoff X with the emergence of Hayashi. I predict Navy by 4-5 goals (assuming the team that beat BU last week shows up again).
Re: Navy 2024
I have a question and I am not trying to be a smartass. Is Boston University even good this year? They returned a lot of players from last year and were picked to finish near the top of the Patriot League. But they haven't played like a top 20 team at all. They got run over by unranked Bryant and Navy, while beating St.Joes (1-3), Vermont (1-4) and Brown (0-4). So does the win over BU count as a quality win?essorcalveritas wrote: ↑Thu Mar 07, 2024 4:01 pm Now that Sisselberger is no longer at Lehigh, the Mids should have a major upper hand for the next few years at the Faceoff X with the emergence of Hayashi. Based on BU's talent I think it is a quality win (especially after the showing vs Towson & Penn St). However only time will tell (by season end) if it's as much quality as it appears to be at this time. Regardless, it was a Road game and the manner in which the Mids spanked them makes it a big win- at least in my book.Henpecked wrote: ↑Thu Mar 07, 2024 4:11 pmI have a question and I am not trying to be a smartass. Re: Navy 2024
It was also a combination of Navy not having an effective Zone offense for so many years....not even sure we have one at this time. In 2018, we only went 8/21 at the X vs Gaffneyessorcalveritas wrote: ↑Thu Mar 07, 2024 4:01 pm Now that Sisselberger is no longer at Lehigh, the Mids should have a major upper hand for the next few years at the Faceoff X with the emergence of Hayashi. Lehigh always runs Zone D against us, and others to keep the sore low. Our offense, historically, was built around dodging, and moving the ball two more times. That' does not work very well vs Zone. In that game we were far more fluid, attacked more in transition if memory serves me, and had more players with an assist than goals.

Re: Navy 2024
Let's hope so. Pay close attention to the 'flow' of their offense and do not watch the ball during the game, watch the backside of where the ball is currently. You'll begin to notice who is working to find gaps, seems, screening, etc and if the men are being put in to situations to excel. Otherwise, the we may be walking in to a buzzsaw when we see Army. The beauty, however, is the Army / Navy game is more often a game within game.

One positive about BU -- their crease attackman #3 Kelly was sneaky good at popping open & finishing in close.youthathletics wrote: ↑Fri Mar 08, 2024 1:56 pmLet's hope so. Re: Navy 2024
Based on the way BU handled Bucknell today, last week could turn out to be a Quality Win.
BU was up 12-6 before closing it out at 13-6, the outcome was never in doubt.

Sheesh…..do we not have a designated hot slide when they dodge / invert from behind. Lehigh’s first two shots were from X with no slide. Resulted in a dunk.
Do we actually hold shooting practice….it is awful.

Lehigh's goalie has 12 saves already. Is he playing awesome, is Navy just not shooting well, or is it a combination of both?

I try to be positive. But that had to be one of Navy's most heartbreaking losses in sometime.

Re: Navy 2024
Aargh ! ...equipment failure & critical mistakes.
Injuries on D took a toll. 37,31 & 67 were all missed.
2 evenly matched teams, both picked to finish 4/5 in the PL.
Little things make a difference.

Poor shooting, turnovers, and clearing difficulties. Basics are still a problem.
