I think that the amount of upperclassmen talent that Williams is bringing back this year has been slightly underrated. They have a massive senior class of contributors as well as some bright spots with a lot of talent in the classes below. The game Wednesday vs. Union may be pretty telling as the past couple years have gone clearly the way of Union. If the Ephs pull out the win I'd be interested to see how others are feeling about them this year. Regardless, there is a lot to be looking out for in these midweek games.

Middlebury made them seem soft and slow, and Swarthmore loves taking it to teams with physicality, sometimes to a fault, especially #19 trying to ride. Anyone know how Amherst sort of came back at the end?
After watching the full game, Amherst looks really sloppy on the offensive side. They were able to close the gap in the second half with man up opportunities (Amherst's 10 vs. Midd's 2). Amherst's O looked super tight, which made it easy for Midd to defend in zone as well as EMO. Overall, Amherst did not look like the same team from last year, and they struggled to create great scoring opportunities despite going 23-32 at the draw. Midd was flying all over the field with constant pressure and looked poise on both sides of the ball, even without Simpson. I could see Amherst dropping this game and possibly finding themselves on the outside of the top 20 polls looking in. Still hard to base anything off of one game, so I'm sure they're making some of the necessary changes looking at the film. RPI will be a bigger test for Midd. The Panthers will have to get up for this midweek top 10 matchup.

Picks for today's slate:

Hamilton over Utica
Midd over RPI
Colby over UNE
Bates over Keene
Wesleyan over Salve
Bowdoin over WNE
Williams over Union
Trin over Skidmore
Amherst over Springfield
CNU over Tufts

'Cac goes 9-1 on the day. Tufts/CNU game will be tight. CNU edges them out on Bello. Midd rolls at home.
Anyone else remember the RPI coaching staff calling for a stick check on the Midd fogo last year? Karma.

I'd be surprised to see CNU by 6 but would not be at all surprised if they win. They are loaded this year with an extremely old team, lots of new guys seeing the field for Tufts. While they have gone against amazing talent in practice, game intensity cannot be simulated. Looks like rain starting right around game time, high 40s, nasty weather. Who can focus and block that out. Overall, a great slate of games. Picks are hard with only 1 game in the book. I'll go with the southerners though and pick CNU 15-13, Midd by 2, Union by 1 over Williams, Bowdoin by 4, Amherst by 2, Hamilton game already played, Bates by 5, Wes by a ton

Weather should be fine at Bello. 50 degrees and drizzle with no wind is about the best the southern boys from CNU could have hoped for in early March. They got much luckier than Lynchburg last season.

Under 4 hours to game time. Not Jordan weather. Things could get interesting.

Midd has doubled up RPI at the half, 8-4.

11-8 Midd at end of 3. Panthers O actually pretty sloppy that quarter, had multiple cutters with room on the crease and passes are a bit off.

RPI coaches watched the RIT/Midd NCAA film. Astounding that Midd continues to give full-game minutes to an attack that opponents shut down with a short stick. Something extremely odd going on up there ... that team isn't coached for success outside the NESCAC.

Time out, 6:12 left, 12-11 Midd after RPI tied it at 11. RPI keeper about 60%, Midd O pretty stagnant.

Way to much iso from Midd, missed the first half, not sure how they scored 8 there playing like this, having an attack draw a shortie for the whole game is crazy

13-12 PRI, 1:40 left, not sure Midd keeper has made a save this half, how was this game 8-4 Midd?

Wow.... The Jumbos came into this with some balls, they are so aggressive and CNU has no answer. By no means is this over, but do not think CNU was prepared for how the Jumbos came out.

Terrible shooting and sloppy turnovers on CNU's part are killing them. But both starting goalie and fogo playing terrible mean this one is over. Tufts playing a fast, physical brand!

Are Middlebury and Bowdoin still the best teams now that we have seen this new look Jumbos team. Seems like they reloaded given that 9 people have scored in the first half. This the fastest most aggressive I have ever seen them play. Consistently forrcing errors by CNU.

I don’t think I remember a team going 0 for 16 at the x in a half
