Army has same constraints, they seem do be doing ok since Covid stated.

Its was my understanding , please correct me if wrong, that Army and USAFA dis enrolled then reenrolled varsity players because of covid and had or have 5th year seniors. Navy did not do this. Not taking anything away from the recruiting efforts or coaching at Army.

That is correct. All of Army’s seniors on this years team are 5th years. They would have already graduated at Navy.

It is true. Look at Reese Burek for example. He is listed as a Freshman in 2020, Soph in 2021 and a Jr in both 2022 and 2023, Senior in 2024. Same exact thing applies to Jacob Morin. This is each of their 5th years listed on an Army roster.

According to Lax Reference, Navy RPI 45, SOS 57. Very disappointed for the boys and the program overall.
Re: Navy 2024
I don’t see an issue with our SOS. Patriot League is what it is so that will vary year to year. But OOC being Penn State, Hopkins, Villanova, Towson isn’t too bad at all. Would be nice to get the Terps back on the schedule.

Re: Navy 2024
Army has done this for years, they often played softer opponents comparably. Beuase in the end all that matters IS PL Auto Mid. Backing in a risky move.....control your destiny by team chemistry, flow, and system. Navy often tried to beef up their schedule over the years with cuse, jhu, and what ever they could muster based on their PL bye week, wich was often on the back end near the ACC tourney.
BTW Navy's SOS is 32 , army is 37. Not sure where essor got 57.

Army, Navy and AF all have a prep school. But not a lot of Navy lax recruited types end up there at NAPS under Joe. More direct admits.
Having 5th year seniors 4th year juniors etc gives those who take advantage of that a significant advantage.

Congrats to the Mids on a well earned beatdown of BU on the road.
This team is so hard to figure out. I pray they see more games like this than the Penn St or Towson version

Nice PL road win. What happened to BU is the real question. Look nothing like the past couple years.essorcalveritas wrote: ↑Sat Mar 02, 2024 6:46 pm Congrats to the Mids on a well earned beatdown of BU on the road.

Dane Swanson and Zach Hayashi just became co-winners of the weekly MIAA Product College Lacrosse Player of the Week on the MIAA Lacrosse Discussion Page on Facebook.
Re: Navy 2024
Great win up at BU. Lehigh looks to be down this year so we could be looking at a 2-0 start in the PL. Seems to be wide open outside of Army.

Re: Navy 2024
Even though BU is down from past years, Navy still looked really sharp (and nothing like they looked vs. Towson). If they play with that same level of focus and cohesion, they'll be in good shape vs. Lehigh.
Re: Navy 2024
28 had a shot % of 0 for for 4 games, against BU 63%, 5g that's why you won, good for him. AND # 8 came to play. The Orfling wrote: ↑Tue Mar 05, 2024 10:00 pmEven though BU is down from past years, Navy still looked really sharp (and nothing like they looked vs. Towson). Re: Navy 2024
#28 finally had time & room to shoot. 2 of 5 goals were EMO. Don't know if they schemed to get him open or if it was BU defensive lapses. Either way -- he's apparently healthy, still has his shot & his confidence should be restored, ...if it was ever in doubt. The diversity in scoring from the rest of the O opened things up for him.
That's the way it's supposed to work.
