Nope, there's no connection to illegal immigration in that case so far, and likely won't be. It was likely smuggled by a US Citizen through a port of entry, like most drug smuggling operations.

Don't get shirty with the commentary, YA. You said nothing about a DEA agent or anything about the border, and the article featured no such thing. You have a documented history of putting stuff out there. So what did the DEA agent say exactly? It's not a big surprise seacoaster. And Natty's response also shows it is coming from from the south. The thread is not called Illegal Immigration, and is not exclusive to only one line item. Our border is a sieve....and it does not matter who is bringing it over the line. Not to mention I never mentioned "illegal" crosser in my initial comment. Crazy you guys make assumptions.Seacoaster(1) wrote: ↑Wed Feb 21, 2024 11:11 amDon't get shirty with the commentary, YA. Well, Natty's response at best assumes it was coming from a port of entry, of which there are many in the south. So -- sorry to belabor this -- was the dope brought in by a US citizen? Or a person attempting to immigrate here or at least visit the US?youthathletics wrote: ↑Wed Feb 21, 2024 11:38 amSeacoaster(1) wrote: ↑Wed Feb 21, 2024 11:11 amDon't get shirty with the commentary, YA. How else are they gonna get foreign fentanyl into the US than crossing a border? This thread is about mostly illegal immigration (and occasionally legal) immigration, not legal US border crossers bringing in illegal goods during through our trade ports of entry.youthathletics wrote: ↑Wed Feb 21, 2024 11:38 am It's not a big surprise seacoaster. If you want to discuss how Border Patrol, DEA and others coordinate to stop organized drug smuggling through our ports of entry, that's a different animal and generally unrelated to the immigration system. Use a different thread.

Why use ports of entry to smuggle in poison. One desperate asylum seeker with a backpack can smuggle in enough fentanyl to kill thousands of young American yutes.NattyBohChamps04 wrote: ↑Wed Feb 21, 2024 12:03 pmHow else are they gonna get foreign fentanyl into the US than crossing a border? The drug cartels should hire you. It's not like they've been doing this kind of thing for decades. Testing every which way to get things into the US in bulk to make their billions each year.cradleandshoot wrote: ↑Wed Feb 21, 2024 12:12 pm Why use ports of entry to smuggle in poison. We capture hundreds of thousands of pounds of drugs at the southern border each year, including 26,000 lbs of fentanyl last year. That's just what we catch. They have planes, submarines, and more. They come via shipping containers, not backpacks. This is an organized business operation.
Desperate asylum seekers are mostly seeking a better life, trying to get away from cartels and people like them. But I'm sure there are a few random ones who try to bring in drugs through multiple border inspections. I'm sure a few get through each year.

This guy was clearly seeking a better life: https://www.fox5atlanta.com/news/who-is ... uga-campus
Sadly, at the expense of another: https://www.cnn.com/2024/02/24/us/uga-a ... index.html
Funny how CNN does not even mention anything about his status.
So much so, our fuggin government can not even confirm has status. Just gross.

The contrast between CNN's story (updated 3 hours ago) and the X thread of @AliBradleyTV (dropped at 9pm last night) is a tale of journalistic contrasts. Reporting constrained by preexisting desired narrative bolstering (or protection) mandates must be demoralizing for any journalist with integrity.youthathletics wrote: ↑Sat Feb 24, 2024 9:06 am This guy was clearly seeking a better life: https://www.fox5atlanta.com/news/who-is ... uga-campus

I'm assuming this story has already been slated for a trip to the memory hole factory in order to be sealed, boxed and filed.

It sure is nice that US citizens never commit murder.
I sure wish they'd report on everyone's citizenship status for every murder. Would make a big difference.

Re: Who is supporting the immigrant caravan?
Words from Reagan.....man, it's amazing (and sad) how different his message is from Trump's and from the 2024 Republican Party.
It's now the party of fear, and their leaders feed on that fear. Fear of "the gays" fear of "immigrants" fear of change.
Reagan reminds us that immigration is a huge part of WHY America kicks the sh(t out of other nations economically. Reagan remembers this lesson from WWII. It's why we beat the Germans and the Japanese.
Give them work Visas, and this "problem" disappears.

Sadly this sort of thing happens. Cherry picking one story, out of hundreds of thousands of individual entries into the country, does nothing but stoke irrational fear and is a serious disservice to the hundreds of thousands of legitimate migrants seeking better life.
Trying to "taint" the idea of immigration in this manner...or to somehow tangentially blame this murder on Joe Biden, Democrats or liberals in general...is just dishonest and one more example of attempting to have your own set of facts.

Cherry picking to fill out the form for one's political needs of the day is, effectively, what the internet and "social" media has become. We don't highlight the drunk abusive husbands who murder their wives and girlfriends, because there's no real payoff from a random assh@t killing someone. We need "illegals" to fill the venom slot. And the interweb complies.dislaxxic wrote: ↑Mon Feb 26, 2024 7:03 am Sadly this sort of thing happens.
