I’m a big fan of Poli.
He won a PA state title on that great Downingtown East team.
Al American at Bryant, great scoring D.
First ChesMont alum that I’m aware of to take over a Division I program, so obviously I wish them well.

Benson would be a good choice for Harvard.HopFan16 wrote: ↑Wed May 08, 2019 10:06 amThe Inside Lacrosse article mentions Benson as a possibility for Harvard. He was also a candidate for the UMBC job when it opened up a few years ago.
I don't think Dwan has any intention of leading a program himself.

I can't see Feifs leaving Vermont now with the success he has had thus far. He's done a very good job indeed but I think it will be a few more years before we see his name pop up. Could be sooner, but who knows?
I have said it before, but it bears repeating, if all you change is the coach and staff, you will be back where you are in relatively short order. What is going on with this program is not happening in a vacuum.
I don’t understand this at all. It’s not as if Daniel’s administration hasn’t shown great support for the program. That endowment fundraising program had to have his sign off, and he has only helped to make Johns Hopkins a more attractive place to go to college. Plus the Lacrosse Center was built on his watch.jhu72 wrote: ↑Mon May 13, 2019 10:02 amI have said it before, but it bears repeating, if all you change is the coach and staff, you will be back where you are in relatively short order. Bring back Bill Brody! What is going on with this program is not happening in a vacuum.
The problem is bigger than Daniels. The problem is Hopkins has never really considered all the ramifications of being successful at the D1 level. It has always taken the easy decision. It has always been made easy for the institution, because of the program alumni support. There is no real commitment, because what has been asked has always been easy! That has changed! Daniels and the board does not give a rats ass about the program. Daniels and the board did not build the Cordish center. They approved it, when approval was easy to give! The campus was not made beautiful because of the lacrosse program, it was made beautiful by a gift of a donor who specifically does not support the athletic department.DocBarrister wrote: ↑Mon May 13, 2019 10:20 amI don’t understand this at all. No one has ever been specific about what precisely Daniels is alleged to be doing wrong.

That’s all very vague and non-specific.jhu72 wrote: ↑Mon May 13, 2019 10:47 amThe problem is bigger than Daniels. Daniels and the board need to decide if they want to be a non-ivy, ivy, or they want to be a unique institution.
Hopkins is doing fine.
I think this is probably a discussion better continued over on the Hopkins thread.DocBarrister wrote: ↑Mon May 13, 2019 11:01 am
What more can you ask for? It’s not as if Daniels can suit up and play. Plus, the President of The Johns Hopkins University has more important things to do than micromanage the lacrosse program.

Agreed; and it'll be good for four or five pages in the 2019 page count.Homer wrote: ↑Mon May 13, 2019 11:09 amI think this is probably a discussion better continued over on the Hopkins thread.DocBarrister wrote: ↑Mon May 13, 2019 11:01 am

We’re trying to boost this thread’s page count.seacoaster wrote: ↑Mon May 13, 2019 11:12 amAgreed; and it'll be good for four or five pages in the 2019 page count.Homer wrote: ↑Mon May 13, 2019 11:09 amI think this is probably a discussion better continued over on the Hopkins thread.DocBarrister wrote: ↑Mon May 13, 2019 11:01 am

Indeed - my post was in support of Hop just being Hop..... They are pretty good at itDocBarrister wrote: ↑Mon May 13, 2019 11:06 amHopkins is doing fine.
Actually, I have never seen Hopkins as an institution in better shape than it is in now. Was never a big fan of Steven Muller, but I think Hopkins has had an outstanding series of presidents since, plus some extremely generous donors (and one in particular).

What exactly does this mean? Hopkins is already ranked higher than several Ivies. Hopkins has academic programs ranked with Harvard.
