As the Coach warned, getting off to a fast start the first 2 games can breed false confidence.
Need to see how this team responds to getting punched in the mouth.
Gotta find a way to not let the game get away when not winning FO's.
Total team loss. Seniors need to step it up.

Re: Navy 2024
It's all about the culture, fundamentals, execution and leadership.
Do we have another Goalie that can step in, when #1 is struggling. It seems not so long ago the starting position was up for grabs (Per Coach)
19 turnovers , .370 Save percentage, 1-6 Man Up, 23 GB's , 2 assisted Goals
24- Zero Production
43, 6 and 28 - First Midfield non-existent
Next Five - PSU, BU , LU, Hop and Villa
Those that know Amplo, he will blame everybody but himself !
Go NAVY, beat army

Still playing the same players size over skill. If stat’s aren’t looking good with what’s on the field need to execute different players. What they’ve been playing with is not working zero IQ of the game and weak stick skills. Aka dropping passes.

they were playing a bunch people, I counted at least 7 different attackman in the 1st half.

They might have played a lot of different players, but not the right ones.
Re: Navy 2024
Look at the stats, non producers last year same non producers this year. I would say next up.

Re: Navy 2024
After watching the game, and digesting what I saw, there is certainly an enigmatic dynamic taking place between staff and players, primarily on attack. Respecting seniors, providing some game time growth for under-class, injury nursing, keeping Third and Fourth class players engaged, and some good old fashioned 'you are not the shiznit and I will pull you in a heartbeat'.
Defensively, Towson outcoached us, or we outcoached ourselves;; likely both. What I mean, is that Towson took clear advantage or our rotations and exposed the soft spots where our 2nd slides were taking place....moreover, Towson offense moves off ball 10x better than we do on offense...which does what?, exactly! not prepare us when other teams do it to us.....we need to see more off-ball rotation in our weekly practices; broken record talking here.
Sure, the score shows we let a bunch of goals in, and in watching that game.....our keeper did get a bit hung out to dry. He has seen better days, but at some point he needs locked in support out front.
We did have a scare this week with one of players, and do not rule out the impact that has on the players in the back of their minds. Not to mention, this game was meaningless in the grand scheme of PL play and how we get a bid....win the PL Tourney is the goal, other than beating Army.

Agree with all of your analysis, youth. Tough stretch of games coming up, time to regroup.youthathletics wrote: ↑Sun Feb 18, 2024 9:21 am After watching the game, and digesting what I saw, there is certainly an enigmatic dynamic taking place between staff and players, primarily on attack. Re: Navy 2024
From the front lines - Amplo has already lost the locker room, it's not due to yesterday's game.
It's been a combination of on/off field antics that has been building over the last three years.
No disrespect to Marquette or Hofstra, but the quality of student/athlete/service academy minded Midshipmen isn't ever going to follow him.
Why do you think the Assistant AD has been traveling with the MIDS. Chet might soon be making an appearance in the locker room.
Coach Phipps got the F.... out of town, because of this exact reason. He couldn't be associated with this tyrant.
Bring back Coach Wellner, Coach Rep or recruit Coach Torpey or Coach Raymond

Not sure why they just did not pass the bat-ton to coach Welner. He would have been a great fit for the position.

Goat, trust your insider information but ouch - incredible indictment for the program. If accurate - CHT needs to take action now and right the ship ASAP.TheGoat1999 wrote: ↑Sun Feb 18, 2024 5:22 pm From the front lines - Amplo has already lost the locker room, it's not due to yesterday's game.

Pains me to say that I agree.TheGoat1999 wrote: ↑Sun Feb 18, 2024 5:22 pm From the front lines - Amplo has already lost the locker room, it's not due to yesterday's game.

Re: Navy 2024
I worry that this is supposed to be the year for us. 2 starting defenseman, top SS, entire 1st midfield, top attackmen are all seniors and graduating.
Re: Navy 2024
Playing devil's advocate, here -- wouldn't a Midshipman have a far higher tolerance for followership than a non-academy player, Marquette/Hofstra etc?TheGoat1999 wrote: ↑Sun Feb 18, 2024 5:22 pm From the front lines - Amplo has already lost the locker room, it's not due to yesterday's game.

Second, Amplo is a tough coach but a smart politician ... he has always asked AD's / assistant AD's to travel with his teams.
Re: Navy 2024
The service academies exist to train leaders, not so much followers, although they'll get plenty of both in the fleet. As such the students get a ton of leadership training, classroom and practical. It's part of the DNA on the Yard. One thing they can recognize in a heartbeat is a bad leader. I have absolutely no idea what is going on at the helm of Navy's men's lacrosse team. Zero. So this is in no way a comment on the current situation. I'm only saying that leading those students requires someone who has a very deep understanding of their culture and principles and leads accordingly.EasyRider wrote: ↑Mon Feb 19, 2024 11:51 amPlaying devil's advocate, here -- wouldn't a Midshipman have a far higher tolerance for followership than a non-academy player, Marquette/Hofstra etc?TheGoat1999 wrote: ↑Sun Feb 18, 2024 5:22 pm From the front lines - Amplo has already lost the locker room, it's not due to yesterday's game.

Time to bring Coach Rep back on the yard? Methinks yes
