until they beat somebody in the top 10. Interesting that you have Maryland at #11. Still, if they take down the Terps
then I'll be a believer... Oh, and PSU at #8 despite loss at home to 'gate?
Agree with this realistic post ;)
If Cuse can hold its own at the dot against Maryland, it could be a great matchup of the Cuse offense against the Terp defense. I agree that Cuse needs to beat someone to be elite, but Vegas thinks Maryland and Syracuse are relatively even. This could be the week.

Hope so... as a fan of Cuse, nervous with the hype-level.

I almost kept Cornell #4, but Marylands win over Syracuse moved them up to 4.

Denver/Cornell should be a great game.

Hard to say. The Big Red, sure, they might not belong at #5 yet, though they have a pretty tough schedule over the next 5 weeks and we'll know more than soon enough how good they are.

Not sure who you move above Denver at this point in the season. Army? Maybe, though I think Denver's best win is way more impressive than Army's. Yale? I mean, I wouldn't. The Hopkins team Denver beat? Nope.

I think Syracuse is probably too low at 10, but not sure I'd slot them above Denver at this point (they'll have more than enough opportunity to get there).

All-in-all, I don't see a ton to complain about here...

Thought 'Cuse looked pretty good in their loss. A call or goal the other way and they would have won. Definitely mid-top 10 team if they play at Saturday's level.

I tend to agree an OT loss to Maryland tells me SU can play with anyone. I’m not sure what I glean from wins over the likes of Bellarmine or Cleveland State.

I can’t see any argument to have Gtown ranked currently. That blow out loss to Loyola is hard to overlook right now. I don’t think beating Penn is a win to move them into the top 20. If I am taking a 2 loss team to rank it would be a Richmond team that didn’t look out of place vs Maryland or Virginia

I think Notre Dame is loaded and agree that Marquette is likely to prove in retrospect to be a pretty solid team. (The win against Cleveland State doesn’t tell us much, of course.) That ACC schedule will be fun to watch with some of these titans going up against each other.

There isn’t a lot of data to work with, but I would keep UVa over Maryland for now based on their common opponent, Richmond. Maryland going to Overtime and UVa winning by 4

So Virginia beats a top 10 team by 8 and then beats the team Maryland needed OT to beat by 4 on the road…and they should be put behind them. Curious…

Don't know how MD leapfrogs UVA after going to double ot against a team that played UVA close until later in the game when UVA pulled away a little. 4 beats 5 (in ot nonetheless) usually remains 4 unless someone else loses. Still a long way to go before these polls mean something but I don't follow your logic

It sure was!

College lacrosse imo gets better and better every year. Though I agree with others that ND, UVA, and Duke might be a bit better than others this year, I count 11 others who can certainly beat any of those three on the right day. That’s really great parity.

Most intriguing matchups this coming week and weekend:

Harvard - Bryant
Towson - St Joes
Bryant - Quinnipiac (until proven otherwise, curious about Bryant)
UNC - Hopkins (probably the game I’m most interested in)
Penn - Delaware
ND - Georgetown
