What a shame. We keep losing JUCO program after JUCO program. Terrible and makes me nervous about the future of NJCAA lacrosse. I hope it doesn't end up like hockey

There was a time when there was over 30 JUCO programs. I believe this number is now in the high teens. I really hope schools who previously had programs think about bringing it back.

The influx in D2 and D3 schools offering the sports has really hurt JUCO in recent years.

Also add in the fact that we now have a pretty active transfer portal, COVID and it's ripling effects and the "lowering" of some admission standards at numerous 4 years; all have been a recipe for disaster for the state of JUCO lacrosse

The loss of Monroe dooms the girls to Hockey's fate. NJCAA Men's Lacrosse peaked at 34 teams in the early 2000's.
In actuality, 15 teams remain with the loss of MCC.
The good news is that Jefferson and Finger Lakes both have coaches recruiting, so they may be back. The College of DuPage had a successful inaugural season, they are actively trying to get some teams in their region to join in so they can reduce travel costs.
