Absolutely devastating loss at home.

I can’t understand why PM didn’t call the timeout to draw up a play to score short handed. Better to be aggressive and take your shot to win short-handed.

Can’t lose games like this with the Blue Jays’ schedule.

Completely f*cked up loss that wrecked some very fine debut performances for Hopkins.

Who cares about not scoring while you're a man down. We were up with 3 seconds left and gave up a goal off a restart. Almost unfathomable. Legit can't believe that just happened

Total ref show

Still, how do you give up a goal with 3 seconds left? Just tackle the dude
Plenty of blame to go around, but:

(1) McDermott gets tackled on the play before Denver's 11th goal. Go back and watch that one. Couldn't be more obvious.
(2) 2 min non-releasable? On a shot that misses the cage, which immediately leads to the 12th goal.
(3) Reset initially called, then they change their mind, which totally changes the game and with the 2 non-releasable, causes goal 13.

Yes, the shat the bed. But come on.

Big props to 5 for winning the F/O at the start of OT.

Smith's dumb penalties directly cost hop the game but coaching decision to put offense into hibernation in 4q was reason why Denver was able to get back into game

OK - but do you think that was a 2 min non-releasable?

Nah. Players did enough to win. If you're giving up a goal with 2-3 seconds left it's entirely on the coaching staff

Blue Jays got a miracle short-handed FO win in OT, get the ball in the box, and then basically do nothing with it.

That’s on PM. Could not care less if you’re short-handed. Call a timeout, have boy-genius OC draw up a f*cking play, score, and call it a f*cking day.

Seriously, what the f*ck ….

Would have been better if the Blue Jays got blown out.

Agree … the players aren’t faultless, but the coaches blew this one. They should take away PM’s f*cking parking spot for a week.

Just don't give up a goal with 2 seconds left and you win. Nothing else matters. The game was won. You could play out that ending a thousand times and we'd win 999 of them. Just totally insane.

Should also note that Q precisely called the play that Denver would run for the game-tying goal.

Which means the Hopkins coaches should have known, too.

PM has some explaining to do.

Now suddenly Towson is a must-win game. How f*cked up is that?!?

There were missed calls that went Hopkins way. I can’t believe you bitched about reversing what was initially a terrible reset call.

Fine, then call a timeout with ten seconds left on the shot clock. Have boy-genius OC draw up a f*cking 10-second play. F*cking score. THEN call it a f*cking day.

Under what circumstances should the Blue Jays have not used their timeout and allowed Denver to get the ball back?!?

So what exactly should have been done there? Sure, you could lock off Sillstrop at 20 yards, but you’re down a man and that would have left someone open on the crease. Credit to Sillstrop; that’s a perfect shot. Your keeper should be able to stop shots from 15+ yards. He didn’t. Happens. The end was what it was: a shi**y confluence of unlikely events. Bigger point is that it should have never come down to that.

Safe to say Hopkins Offense this year is going to be a lot of guys watching while one guy just dodges. That is all that happened in the second half. No wonder why they lost and their defense was also lunging on almost every dodge from a Denver player… gonna be a long season….

Like what? Was it really clear that the reset was wrong? Ball hit something.

Doc- I get it. That loss sucked. But here’s the thing. There is no magical man-down scoring play. We ran that possession pretty much perfectly. Got off a much better shot than you could expect, thanks to the fact that we ran their D into the ground, and actually should have kept possession (hit the post, should have been a clock reset). Lots of places to look at where that game was lost. But that’s definitely not one of them.
