South siiide-looking for Cole DiPietro to turn some heads this spring! (Hobart recruit and was thrilled with a kid named John Jude Considine for us last spring so happy to get the coaches kid from that school even if he’s maybe not the biggest kid, Considine has a total bulldog mentality)

Maybe a stupid question:

How would St. A’s do in D3 College lax?

Both St. Anthony's and Chaminade would beat the bottom ~half of D3 teams pretty handily.

Northport will be continuing the series with Port Washington on March 23 and making what I think might be (probably?) our first ever trip to Garden City on April 29.

Manhasset vs Shoreham Wading River on 4/14/24 at LIU Post in Old Brookville NY (This is a Sunday, the game is at 3:30 after Notre Dame Vs Cornell at the same venue.)

Here is the rest of the non conference schedule below:

3/30/24 - John Jay Cross-River (Home)

4/2/24- Ridgefield CT (Away)

4/7/24- Darien CT (Away)

4/26/24- Rumson-Fair Haven NJ (Home)

5/11/24 - Chaminade (Home)

During the regular season they will now face Port Washington ( Not sure they have ever met before in regular season, maybe in the early 2000's!), Farmingdale( I believe they met once before in the early 2000's!), Cold Spring Harbor, Garden City (Game is on 4/20/24 at Manhasset), Syosset, Massapequa, Wantagh & South Side.

Can't wait for the action to begin!

Did Nassau realign the leagues? Is that how all of those are league games?

LI13,

The way it was explained to me is that Nassau is playing "regardless of classification during the regular season in an ability based grouping"
Once the regular season ends, Port Washington, Massapequa, Farmingdale begin the "A" playoffs, Manhasset and Garden City play the "B" playoffs, etc. I like this idea MUCH better. I think the coaches are excited about it!

That is a VERY strong schedule. How is Set looking this year? That is a very large step up from their usual schedule with so many obligatory league mismatches.

They have arguably the strongest defense in LI. Lost their all-world FO Cal Girard but have a strong but young offense and a very solid senior returning goalie in Matt Im. Should be a strong squad, obviously weaker than last year, but still looking at a strong year!

I have been begging Suffolk to do this for years.

Nassau girls have done it for a while and it works great.

In addition to Girard they lost an absolute ton including P.J.Flood as well as D1’s Connor, Haggerty, Cargiulo, Petersen, and Lapina; will be a tall order to even come close to the fantastic season they had last year.

I recall a game on the front field (won by Manhasset) featuring Chris Kane for Port and John Driscoll for Manhasset. But, yes, maybe it could have been a playoff game. Kane graduated from Port in ‘74 so that must have been the year.

The game between Manhasset and Port was a second round playoff game in 1975. Chris Kane graduated in 1974. Manhasset won 9-8 on a goal by Johnny Driscoll on an assist from Barney Fields with about 2 minutes to go. One of the biggest crowds ever on the old front field. Manhasset went on to win the Nassau County championship that year.

Thanks. Manhasset really should have a good set of archives. GC does.

Yes, there will be some growing pains for sure but they will still be a tough out.
