Apart from the Ancient Eight, 15 game schedules are the exception, not the rule, among the rest of D1. The clear majority of teams play 16 to 17 games per season.
Because I'm crazy busy this morning, I went through the top 10 schedules. UNC is the only one playing only 15 games. The rest are 16 or 17 regular season games (I could be off if any of the games listed were only scrimmages but not labeled that way).
So how many would you have done if you weren't crazy busy? I'm kidding, of course.

Your research is spot on. You would find the same (16-17 games) with the overwhelming majority of the rest of D1 too.

Anything scheduled before February 9th of 2024 is a scrimmage.
Fine I'll do 11-20 now! lol

Ok, found some time to go through 11-20. Penn and Princeton also only with 15 (Ivy thing?). That said, Penn State and USC still haven't posted schedules (USC has 16 listed on IL though so everyone they play seems to have publicly posted).

I agree though, the more games the better!

Still shocked there are still schools without schedules posted.

😁. I guess I remembered wrong. For some reason I thought multiple teams scheduled 15 this year instead of 16. 👍
I remember wrong all the time. Welcome to the club. 😉

Oh--and Northwestern also scheduled only 15 regular season games this year, as well.

I knew there was more than one. 😁 I remembered people posting around three or four and figured that was going to be the norm this year.

The season is short enough that I tend to agree from a player perspective on slightly fewer games. Especially for competitive teams who could play 3 more in a conference tourney and 4-5 more in an NCAA tourney. Late in season too many teams are tired and worn down and you can see it on the field.

Only positive is that it is much better than high schools, where my daughters will be likely be playing 25-27 games in a 13 week season. smh.

A high school team playing 25–27 games? Wow! That is definitely a lot.

What school?

The only team I know that traditionally has played close to that many games is St. Stephens St. Agnes in Alexandria Virginia.

Edit: I took a look at the top 100 teams from last year. Owen Roberts (PA) takes the cake with 28 games. SSSA, Westwood (MA), and Loyola (IL) had 26 games. Pingry (NJ), Haggerty (FL), and Notre Dame (MA) played 25.

Safe to say she will demand defensive and ground ball commitment from her players—“Kamikaze” commitment as one poster put it.

Yell Cornell

On Schleicher--her entire career changed during the fateful February '23 regular season game at Northwestern. She was injured during the contest and never got back to her normal playing speed or impact. (Not to get off track here--but Izzy Scane coming back from injury bolder and stronger and more skilled is a rarity. Unfortunately, most players come back from injury closer to Schleicher than Scane.) The impression I got was that Hollie was going against bigger tougher players in Evanston and found herself overpowered/out of her depth somehow. (So very difficult to find out about player injuries. For the most part a given players injury status is guarded like launch codes--most especially at Boston College.) She played sparingly the rest of 2023. A sad ending to a great career which includes a national championship among her many awards and accolades. I hope she does well in her coaching career.

I guess it’s my turn.

Why did you move this over to a different thread? Because what really matters to you is the number of views. As such, it is good of you to periodically remind your casual viewing audience that you lack both lacrosse experience and understanding. Questioning Hollie Schleicher’s toughness, and your bizarre injury comparison, are just the latest examples.

Queue the tired meme…
What a shocker--another Fanlax member who can't have an exchange of ideas/opinions etc. without getting nasty and personal.

Let's go out with a song together--shall we?

Ok. That’s 5. Possibly 6 in the top 20. Definitely a few 21-50. I feel better. Glad to know I wasn’t going crazy. I remember a thread recently hearing complaints that some of the better teams were scheduling less.

Glad to see they have Hopkins on the schedule. Navy could also be a decent matchup. Got me thinking, next year the ACC will be up to 12 teams and then the following (or 2027) 13 with FSU. Going to be very limited OOC games for the league once that happens. Hopefully the NCAA figures out the conference alignment sooner than later and separates football/basketball and olympic sports. I won't hold my breath though...

Not sure about the Ohio State schedule. The first six games will all be blowouts. They will be 5-1 with no game within 10 goals.

They've got a shot at a .500 record, but need to break through this year on those close in conference games they had last year.

They are 8-8 easily if they go winless in the Big 10. 5-1 to start and then beat Cincy, Louisville and Temple.

They should beat them, but only beat Cincy and Temple by 1 each last year.

That doesn't look right. The Hopkins game got moved to 4/18. Don't think they play Villanova on 4/3. That's the date for the Vandy game. Don't think they play Nova at all.
