So it’s a no for USF? . I wonder, did the mCCords had this reputation with Jacksonville or did it just happen because of what they are doing at USF and to the 2024 kids. Someone this fall told me they did the same with Jacksonville regarding over recruiting but I thought it was just sour grapes.LaxPundit07 wrote: ↑Sun Dec 17, 2023 7:09 pm Full scholarship, NIL money, and guarantee of a high paying job upon graduation...and I still wouldn't let my daughter within 100 yards of Paul McCord.
Good luck to USF, they will need it.

Yes. There were periods of time where Paul was not allowed around the program while she was at Jacksonville.Relax77 wrote: ↑Sun Dec 17, 2023 8:00 pmSo it’s a no for USF? . Yes, and it's been mentioned previously in the thread. Apparently had a public (via twitter) altercation with a former player. I can't comment specifically on what was said since I've never seen it.VAMomGlax2019 wrote: ↑Mon Dec 18, 2023 8:22 amAny insights on why? Back to the lecture at hand...
Coming dangerously close to 2024 and still waiting. Any movement on naming a coach? I've heard through the grapevine a certain former club owner is very interested. Seems like it could be a good fit (although as far as I know, no college coaching experience...).

Timing can make or break your first recruiting class and hence your first year of competition (re: Florida). FSU is on the clock and the clock is running down.spidey44 wrote: ↑Mon Dec 18, 2023 8:35 am Back to the lecture at hand...

Re: Florida State
Based on the time it's taking to name a HC, I can't see them starting in Spring 2026. Not sure about the Title IX implications on delaying, but seems like it would be a real rush job to start (although Clemson, Xavier, and FDU coaches all had less than 2 years before their inaugural season).intheknow247 wrote: ↑Thu Jan 04, 2024 2:58 pmTiming can make or break your first recruiting class and hence your first year of competition (re: Florida). Re: Florida State
Just learned through the grapevine that FSU just decided on a coach.
Nothing will be officially announced until the new coach's current season is done in May, but I imagine it will leak before then. All I will say is impressive hire, all things considered. Not a wow coach, but a current top 25 coach with a decent track record.

You’re like the kid in Saved by the Bell and goes to Jesse and says ,”hey, did you hear about what happened to Mr Belding? No? Oh then I can’t tell you.”LaxDadMax wrote: ↑Thu Jan 18, 2024 2:47 pm Just learned through the grapevine that FSU just decided on a coach.

I’ll play the game. I go with Mike Bedford.

Re: Florida State
A quick glance and I think we can probably narrow it down to top 10-25...but that's just my guess. It doesn't seem likely any of the top 10 would leave.LaxDadMax wrote: ↑Thu Jan 18, 2024 3:26 pmhead coach of current top 25 team.flushlax77 wrote: ↑Thu Jan 18, 2024 3:19 pm Can we at least get if its a head coach or assistant coach ha ha ha!

Re: Florida State
Not sure what top 25 teams being referred to, but based on preseason rankings:
1. Northwestern - No Way
2. Boston College - There were rumors of her moving on last year but can't see it being to FSU
3. North Carolina - No Way
4. Denver - Not out of the question but highly doubtful
5. Syracuse - No Way
6. Maryland - No Way
7. Notre Dame - Unlikely
8. James Madison - Highly Unlikely
9. Loyola - No Way
10. Stony Brook - Highly Unlikely
11. Johns Hopkins - No Way
12. Florida - Doubt she would want to start over at a new program at her age
13. Army - Possibility but doubtful
14. Penn State - See Florida
15. Penn - No way
16. USC - Has inquired on jobs back east in the past
17. Michigan - Highly Unlikely
18. UMass - Agree Jana is a possibility
19. Princeton - No Way
20. Virginia - No Way
Also considered (alphabetical order):
Clemson - No Way
Duke - See Florida and PSU response
Navy - See Florida and PSU and Duke response
UConn - Katie a possibility too
Re: Florida State
I say Michelle Tumolo is who they should have made an offer she can't refuse. Just not convinced FSU is really committed to support the program to lure a big name down south. The quality of women at Army is as good as it gets, but I assume it's a tough sell to most of the top recruits. Amazing place to go to school, but there is nothing easy about 4 years at West Point.
Re: Florida State
Didn't really specify D1........Maybe it's a top 25 D3 coachLaxDadMax wrote: ↑Thu Jan 18, 2024 3:26 pmhead coach of current top 25 team.flushlax77 wrote: ↑Thu Jan 18, 2024 3:19 pm Can we at least get if its a head coach or assistant coach ha ha ha!

Three guesses, in alphabetical order - Munday, Nielsen, Tumolo - there is a reason these three as well.hmmm wrote: ↑Thu Jan 18, 2024 4:16 pmNot sure what top 25 teams being referred to, but based on preseason rankings:

Re: Florida State
Don't think it's any of the legacy coaches. Legacy meaning a coach who's been in the same program for 10+ years. It' really difficult to pry them away from their current schools for a variety of reasons. It's Tumolohmmm wrote: ↑Thu Jan 18, 2024 4:16 pmNot sure what top 25 teams being referred to, but based on preseason rankings:
