No dog in the fight, but Skidmore returns everybody and they beat your 2-#5 picks last year.
Re: Liberty League 2024
Fair enough! Good point... Let's bring Skidmore into the mix. safe to say they are a #5? I would not say they are Top 3, though....

Re: Liberty League 2024
They're good, and have a potential 1st team all-conf player in #45, but they're not up there with RIT, RPI, Union, yet. They played St. Law pretty tough last year, so 4/5 seems about right for them.

That’s a fair ranking. After SLU I would say Clarkson then Skidmore. Definitely a rebuilding year for Ithaca as they lost all there top players and head coach

What do you mean they beat #2-5?laxdad1434 wrote: ↑Wed Jan 03, 2024 11:36 amNo dog in the fight, but Skidmore returns everybody and they beat your 2-#5 picks last year.

Skidmore beat his 2-#5 picks, Ithaca and Clarkson, last season. And, since Skidmore is bringing back the entire team, logic would dictate they'd be better this season than last.Low2high22 wrote: ↑Wed Jan 03, 2024 12:35 pmWhat do you mean they beat #2-5?laxdad1434 wrote: ↑Wed Jan 03, 2024 11:36 amNo dog in the fight, but Skidmore returns everybody and they beat your 2-#5 picks last year.

Gotcha. I interpreted that incorrectly as thought he meant they beat all teams from #2-5laxdad1434 wrote: ↑Wed Jan 03, 2024 12:42 pmSkidmore beat his 2-#5 picks, Ithaca and Clarkson, last season. Vassar is a confusing program. Its a great academic institution, so you'd think they would attract some academic talent and be better, but year after year they disappoint. Their only hope is to implement a zone and get lucky.Leonard Washington wrote: ↑Wed Jan 03, 2024 2:13 pm 1. RIT

Interested in your take on Liberty League players/teams for this upcoming season. This is a Top 2 League in DIII and the feed rarely gets any action and/or comments. But yet, other teams or Leagues that are not as competitive or in the mix have pages and pages of lowdowns... Liberty League is the best hidden secret academically and athletically...

Re: Liberty League 2024
Two players on SLU who are in the running for top players in the league are Ben Hutchinson and Judge Murphy. Both guys are seniors and have played in every game since they stepped on campus and will be leading the offense for the Saints. Depth scoring -as for every team- will be the question mark for SLU if they can make it back the the LL finals/NCAA tournament but Hutchinson and Murphy will be leading the team from the front. I will be interested in seeing how the Saints come out of the gate with some tough early games after a disappointing last couple of weeks of 2023 season
Re: Liberty League 2024
Are any players taking the extra years that are available? If not you are right about the offense. They generally run a pretty tight ship on offense. But if no one is coming back for the extra years it might take a while for the offense to come around. The other side of the field is in good hands. The meat grinder always seems to be there.FosterLax3 wrote: ↑Mon Jan 15, 2024 12:11 pm Two players on SLU who are in the running for top players in the league are Ben Hutchinson and Judge Murphy. Yes. Agreed. Less counting thread pages of teams we don’t follow, and more creating the chatter we complain that there isn’t enough of. (call it “pages envy”)Unknown Participant wrote: ↑Mon Jan 15, 2024 8:58 pm Like York, Lynchburg, ODAC ... yeah agree 100%. Need more Liberty League, Union, RIT chatter on here.

Re: Liberty League 2024
My thought as far as SLU was that there were a couple of seniors on the offensive side who have the option of returning. If they do the team will look an awful lot like they did last year but with that extra experience. I know toward the end of the season there was some disappointment but the high end for that team was there to be seen when they absolutely dismantled Lynchburg. If those guys return and they can maintain a level of play they could have a shot.
