What does Hunter do that's "political" other than presumably appearing at campaign stops in support sometimes back in the day? Was he an activist politically, perhaps on social media, did he do stump speeches as a surrogate for the Obama/Biden campaign? I don't recall any of that.youthathletics wrote: ↑Tue Dec 19, 2023 9:47 amWell, to be fair, Hunter is NOT a politician, but he sure spends a lot of time with Daddy doing political things. Do you call Joe's job responsibilities as VP (not as a candidate) "political things"? Going to NATO meetings, etc? Is that what you mean?
I don't recall Bill Barr clearing Hunter of anything, but it's factual that a big portion of the time that the "WB's" claim IRS/FBI/DOJ didn't do enough was during Barr's tenure...presumably that's because of Barr's judgment that there was insufficient evidence not some desire to protect Hunter, right? Did any posters on here claim more than that?
Re the Heisman mike drop, I thought it was actually quite effective....for Hunter. The Biden WH political folks are probably quite unhappy with that choice, but it ain't their's to make.
The sputtering of Jim Jordan about Hunter defying a Congressional subpoena was priceless.
Hunter may well eventually comply but he's effectively set the stage for suspicion of the Committee wanting to do it behind closed doors so they could misrepresent the testimony as they have done with other witnesses. He wants it open to public view so people can judge for themselves.

He responds to your post fully, courteously and respectfully. And you post “blah, blah, blah.” Elevating the conversation? Or the last refuge of someone with no meaningful retort? You’re better than this.
Re: Hunter Biden Tinfoil issues
Hunter has won as to the subpoena issue. First of all, he complied with the subpoena. He showed up. The Republicans want to hold him in contempt of Congress for complying with the subpoena? That is a novel contempt argument if I ever heard one.
So let’s suppose the Republicans hold him in contempt anyway. What do you think the chances are that Garland will prosecute him? And after the election, if a Republican were to win, they won’t care anymore about Hunter. If Joe wins, that likely means the Dems retake the House, and the Hunter investigation will go the way of the dodo bird.

Re: Hunter Biden Tinfoil issues
well...actually Mueller wrote that they could not even consider charging Trump because he was still POTUS. He did not write that Trump did nothing wrong, nor even that he did nothing illegal. That said, what the Muller team did detail constituted potential criminally prosecutable acts, post Presidency as well as those they did prosecute involving others. Garland has decided not to pursue those acts in which Trump himself was allegedly complicit, presumably because they decided that the evidence of clear conspiracy was insufficient to be highly confident of conviction. Which ain't the same as "Trump himself didn't break any laws". He did not appoint an SC to decide that, they did so without creating that buffer. On other matters, they saw sufficient basis to appoint an SC, presumably because the evidence was far more clear to them, but they felt that a buffer from partisan decision making was appropriate. And, as we've seen, the evidence is overwhelming on both federal matters. Whether they will result in convictions remains to be seen, but the crimes are evident.a fan wrote: ↑Tue Dec 19, 2023 11:48 amHappy to! You neglect to mention the Hunter thing was put on the back burner. 6 years of investigation with the investigators told to stand down. ...except Trump was working his grift in the private sector. Buyer beware - his patsies were not forced to pay for it.
The Biden's were trading on Joe's govt power as an elected Senator with access to your taxpayer $$$ & influence on war & peace.
Neat. And it's coincidence that all the TeamTinFoils on the board think Hunter was paid money by Stalin to kidnap the Lindberg baby, who Hunter would trade for information on where Bigfoot's house is.
We don't make mistakes, we have happy accidents.

Yup, I agree, youth is, or should be, "better than this."Seacoaster(1) wrote: ↑Tue Dec 19, 2023 11:33 am He responds to your post fully, courteously and respectfully. And you post “blah, blah, blah.” Elevating the conversation? Or the last refuge of someone with no meaningful retort? You’re better than this.
Those were straightforward questions. Shouldn't be that hard to answer.
I wonder whether youth watched Hunter's full address to the press or just the snippets presented in Fox or social media feeds? Did he watch Jordan and Comer squirm? That's my perception and characterization, others can see it differently, but really need to see it directly not through some biased media lens.
Fine if there's a different take to be had, but why not explain one's views?
Re: Hunter Biden Tinfoil issues
Mueller found there was enough evidence to indict Trump criminally for obstruction of justice. He concluded he was bound by the DOJ legal opinion that says you can’t indict a sitting president. I think that opinion is wrong, but Mueller didn’t ask me. Mueller also concluded there was lots of evidence that Trump colluded with Russia (conspiracy is the legal term), but not enough to warrant an indictment.
I don’t think Garland has ever explained why he did not follow up on Mueller’s decision that Trump engaged in prosecutable obstruction of justice. In my view, Trump should’ve been indicted for that as well.

It was not put on any back burner, it was left in the hands of the Trump/Barr appointed prosecutor, and he was given SC status.cradleandshoot wrote: ↑Tue Dec 19, 2023 1:17 pmYou neglect to mention the Hunter thing was put on the back burner. 6 years of investigation with the investigators told to stand down. Hard to complete an investigation when your hands are tied behind your back. Maybe it's Jeff Sessions fault?a fan wrote: ↑Tue Dec 19, 2023 10:37 amRight. A Six year long investigation by three agencies doesn't clear a man...and Hunter is still guilty in the eyes of Republicans.youthathletics wrote: ↑Tue Dec 19, 2023 9:47 amWell, to be fair, Hunter is NOT a politician, but he sure spends a lot of time with Daddy doing political things. And as you are aware, Bill Barr already said Hunter is clean from now until eternity....just ask the forum left .Seacoaster(1) wrote: ↑Tue Dec 19, 2023 9:33 amHah. All that criminal activity by Joe Biden for DECADES, and good ol' Bill let it alllll slide, and didn't open a case on your "Biden Family Corruption'.
For shame. Tsk, tsk.
Bill's gonna take you of his Xmas card list, fer sure. Had no idea you hated the man this much.
It's a Wash Post report for the Wash Post readership ...about the Biden family grift.
Not necessarily illegal or criminal, but unethical & sleazy, like all the stuff we heard about Trump.

You know that, so are you just trolling?
There simply isn't, never has been, any evidence of criminal wrongdoing of Joe Biden, which is the only reason why the MAGA House is interested at all.
If you think otherwise, please be specific.
Re: Hunter Biden Tinfoil issues
Same thing. I'm good with how Mueller ended it. Having evidence, and getting a conviction is different.MDlaxfan76 wrote: ↑Tue Dec 19, 2023 12:55 pm well...actually Mueller wrote that they could not even consider charging Trump because he was still POTUS.
The point here is, I'm happy with Muellers work on the legality of Trump's actions, and moved on LONG ago. So did the rest of the forum, and America.
TeamTinFoil, on the other hand, believe that no matter what happens, or what facts we get.....Hunter's prosecution was "bad". Six years and running....all handled by Trump appointees, and they're STILL claiming conspiracy.
It's so stupid and pointless. Full grown adults, mesmerized by the letter R.
