They do it the right way. Big South is a soft conference so they have to make a hard schedule to get noticed. It’s why they went from something like 50 to 25 last year. Good for them. Those teams are the ones that should be rewarded.OuttaNowhereWregget wrote: ↑Sat Dec 09, 2023 10:36 pm Comparisons were made about UMass's relatively easy out of conference opponents. None here. Looking forward to '24 - Villanova Wildcats Schedule
Feb 3 Delaware *
Feb 11 USC
Feb 17 Bucknell
Feb 21 at La Salle
Feb 24 Navy
Feb 28 Saint Joseph's
Mar 2 at Stony Brook
Mar 6 at Columbia
Mar 10 Vermont
Mar 13 at Lafayette
Mar 23 Georgetown
Mar 30 at Butler
Apr 3 at Connecticut
Apr 13 Xavier
Apr 20 Denver
Apr 27 at Marquette
Villanova's rounding into form with head coach Jill Batcheller going into her 3rd year. The Wildcats had a couple few nice wins last year over St. Joe's, Navy and Georgetown. Hopefully they'll take another step this coming season.
* That's not an exhibition game, folks. These two teams are starting the regular season way early, which is way cool in my book. They'll be the only women's lacrosse game on the map that Satuday morning at 10:30 so I hope it gets broadcast with some quality camerawork. We shall see. Only 55 days till the start of the '24 season now with the adjustment thanks to these two teams.

Love it! Hope they get fairly decent weather! But love seeing an early game and good exposure for both programs if it's the only one - hopefully broadcasting!OuttaNowhereWregget wrote: ↑Sun Dec 10, 2023 7:32 am Feb 3 Delaware *

That’s a nice addition to the schedule. Denver will face top 20 teams in northwestern, Maryland, stony Brook, michigan, and maybe UConn. Out of conference slate looks good. 5 big 10 teams is interesting.OuttaNowhereWregget wrote: ↑Sat Dec 09, 2023 3:29 amWell, well! Denver just added an opponent to their 2024 slate. Re: Looking Forward to 2024 - Schedule Release
I suppose the Big 10 is a nicer fit for Denver as more schools are closer to them in that conference. Yes--good and tough OOC slate for the most part. I think the Pioneers want a stronger RPI/SOS in hopes that they'll get the higher than #5 seed next year and enjoy home field in the quarters instead of having to travel east.Womenslaxxfan wrote: ↑Sun Dec 10, 2023 12:31 pmThat’s a nice addition to the schedule. Re: Looking forward to '24 - Villanova Wildcats Schedule
You're right. I wish they had been clearer--Villanova, that is. Calling their schedule a 16 game schedule is incorrect. No one counts exhibition games as part of their regular season schedule. So--minus the scrimmage, that's a 15 game regular season schedule. In any event--thanks for pointing that out.whyamihere wrote: ↑Mon Dec 11, 2023 8:53 amaccording to the Villanova press release for the 24 schedule this is a scrimmage. So pretty sure this takes out the possibility of it being broadcast (at least with announcers and multiple cameras....).

Coupla items on the Powder Blue Crew
Supposedly, the North Carolina Tar Heels will release their 2024 schedule tomorrow.
I wonder--15 regular season games or 16?
Yes, yes--the Humphrey's, the Humphrey's. They are extraordinary talents--the evidence is overwhelming.
(But pssst...we still don't know how they'll perform in crunch time on the national stage. Talent isn't everything. Let's all calm down and see where they and the rest of the PBC are in late May--shall we? Until then--keep it down, huh?)

Kleizaster's Favorite Railee
Just noticed that PAC-12 teams will not be playing each other twice during the regular season in '24. A departure from what it's been in years previous. Perhaps it has something to do with upcoming conference realignments.
Also of note. A mere 15 regular season games on the '24 slate for the team Kleizaster most enjoys taking shots at (oft times to comedic levels). 15 regular season games for a non-Ivy League team. Not 16. Not 17. Seems more teams are taking that route. Villanova and now Stanford and probably more teams will follow as more schedules are released. Oh well--what's been good for the powder blue goose...
Get 'em, Kle!

1! 2! 3! and 4 is 10--the winnah!
Couldn't help but notice the dustup yesterday. It's a good reminder. If you want to go after certain folks, best be loaded for bear, with all your facts straight. Uddawise--bes leave well enough alone.

Absolutely. Syracuse and Northwestern had the two toughest schedules last year. The Orangewomen always seem to want to play the best. Yup especially compared to UNC playing Liberty, East Carolina and HP.
