York 2024
Re: York 2024
First ten games are quite the gauntlet. And Grove City is no walk in the park either.

2024 recruits shuffling in, with 3 M, 2 A, 1 D, 1 FO and 1 G so far. Another strong and diverse group, hailing from CA, WI, CO, NC, NH, Pittsburgh area, Eastern PA & Western NY.
Won’t be much info, outside the occasional troll, until the Towson scrimmages.

I wonder if Childs dips into the portal this winter to add some depth?

I can’t imagine there is anyone left in the portal that would be willing to transfer to York, and also be an improvement on the current team.
Where do you see the team needing depth?

I am not familiar with the curent york roster but you don't think they could benefit from someone at Lindenwood?Laxattackjack wrote: ↑Tue Dec 05, 2023 5:42 pm I can’t imagine there is anyone left in the portal that would be willing to transfer to York, and also be an improvement on the current team.

I don’t know anything about the Lindenwood roster, so I don’t know. But my off the cuff response would be, probably not. And here is whyChopMan23 wrote: ↑Wed Dec 06, 2023 8:11 amI am not familiar with the curent york roster but you don't think they could benefit from someone at Lindenwood?Laxattackjack wrote: ↑Tue Dec 05, 2023 5:42 pm I can’t imagine there is anyone left in the portal that would be willing to transfer to York, and also be an improvement on the current team.

Most low level D1 kids (from my experience) are D1 or bust. They wanted D1 so bad that they were willing to play for a team that will lose 90% of the games they play, just to say they played D1 or get a small scholarship
The team still has another year of D1 lax, why leave now and give up the “D1” status. Also giving up the scholarship
With Lindenwood being a low level D1 program, they probably don’t have the same level of talent as York. I can’t imagine many of the non starters, being able to come to a team like York and make an impact. The last low level D1 transfer to York didnt see the field much and left
On top of that, they would have to want to go to York. York is a small school in a small town. It’s not for everyone.

They were only D1 in 2023, and being located in Missouri I would think most of the players are from the West/Midwest. York, Pa.is a long way away to play lacrosse.ChopMan23 wrote: ↑Wed Dec 06, 2023 8:11 amI am not familiar with the curent york roster but you don't think they could benefit from someone at Lindenwood?Laxattackjack wrote: ↑Tue Dec 05, 2023 5:42 pm I can’t imagine there is anyone left in the portal that would be willing to transfer to York, and also be an improvement on the current team.

That is also possible.

4 kids from PA on the roster.laxdad1434 wrote: ↑Wed Dec 06, 2023 12:52 pmThey were only D1 in 2023, and being located in Missouri I would think most of the players are from the West/Midwest. I checked out the roster. There is a lefty attack from PA that could make an impact on York.

Makes sense. From his video on YouTube, he looks comparable to most York starters. Since he is already D1, he will probably want to find something similar.laxdad1434 wrote: ↑Fri Dec 08, 2023 1:09 pmHe will be auditioning in '24 for other D1 programs in that conference/area.Laxattackjack wrote: ↑Fri Dec 08, 2023 12:39 pm I checked out the roster. Re: York 2024
Lindenwood only spent one year at the Divison 1 level and spent the rest of there time in Divison 2 and there are not many teams in MO.laxdad1434 wrote: ↑Fri Dec 08, 2023 1:09 pmHe will be auditioning in '24 for other D1 programs in that conference/area.Laxattackjack wrote: ↑Fri Dec 08, 2023 12:39 pm I checked out the roster. Re: York 2024
Yes, I mentioned that earlier in the thread. Lindenwood plays in a pretty good D1 conference, with some good teams. One of the teams, RM, is in his backyard. If he has another season like last year, there will be offers from D1 programs. He thought he was being recruited by a D1 team, he performed at the D1 level, can't see him dropping to D3 even for a good program like York.Asgot wrote: ↑Sun Dec 10, 2023 8:31 pmLindenwood only spent one year at the Divison 1 level and spent the rest of there time in Divison 2 and there are not many teams in MO.laxdad1434 wrote: ↑Fri Dec 08, 2023 1:09 pmHe will be auditioning in '24 for other D1 programs in that conference/area.Laxattackjack wrote: ↑Fri Dec 08, 2023 12:39 pm I checked out the roster. No offense to anyone playing on these teams. But by all accounts, this is a low level conference. Some of these teams occasionally get some upsets. But they are mostly the bottom 1/4 of D1 with the exception to the top 3. Lindenwood is at the bottom of this conference. It is still D1. And if that is the goal, to play D1, I am sure a few of these kids will find that option with another team. I doubt more than a handful will get that option.
Massey has Lindenwood ranked as the 114th best college lax program. One spot ahead of Ursinius. And a a few spots behind Cabrini.
It all depends what these kids what out of college lax. What ever they choose, they are still in an elite group of individuals that are good enough to play college sports.
