Word is, Lindenwood players may be able to move this upcoming year.
Re: Transfer Portal 2025
If a player moves mid-year for the 2024 season we can note that but the vast majority if these guys will be for the 2025 season. Just starting the thread early after today's Ivy League portal dump reported by IL

Loyola might make sense. His step dad is Tim O’Shea, 3x all American at Loyola back in the 90s. Ben committed to Brown and then Notre Dame before switching to Penn State. Maybe he would look there too?GaitsRightHand wrote: ↑Mon Dec 04, 2023 1:16 pm Hearing Spinelli and Loyola. Still early in the process though.

Holy, I remember this kid, I believe loyola was one of his top choices according to his profile on IL. This seems like a really good pickupHenpecked wrote: ↑Mon Dec 04, 2023 4:04 pmLoyola might make sense. His step dad is Tim O’Shea, 3x all American at Loyola back in the 90s. He was SOL at Penn State,
they’re too stacked on offense.

Is Buchner going back to ND? He played football there before Bama

According to Terry Foy, yes.
@TerenceFoy: I’m told that Buchner will finish the Bama football season with the team (as has been reported in multiple outlets), then intends to return to Notre Dame, where he’ll join the defending @NCAALAX champions @NDlacrosse in time for the 2024 season.

Where he could be making passes to Faison (who was originally a lax recruit, but as a walk-on receiver became arguably their biggest threat after a bunch of injuries to WRs, SRs, and TEs).Powellfan22 wrote: ↑Mon Dec 04, 2023 9:11 pmAccording to Terry Foy, yes.

Apparently Hardy didn't like the "commuter school" aspect of JU.

Over 1000 football players entered the portal. Nuts. I will say the portal has made things exciting but this current way of doing it isnt great for the sport in the long term. Just an opinion of course.

Re: Transfer Portal 2025
You think it’s bad, former lacrosse player at and current FB HC at Hobart Kevin DeWall has at least five starters from his disappointingly Mediocre D3 FB team in the portal (one bonehead who was talented but got 2-3 10+Yd penalties each game used his fifth year and started at akron so kids are all looking to “trade up”)justanotherperson wrote: ↑Tue Dec 05, 2023 7:41 am Over 1000 football players entered the portal. This is an untenable situation in D3 with so many tuition dependent smaller schools relying on that 70-100 (or more) male enrollment, yield and 5yr grad rate (USNWR datapoint. And further confirmation that FBS already isn’t and will continue to be disconnected from higher ed. It’s so funny to see rich donors slobber over Ga Tech FB and BB players, swinging from their jockstrap, not realizing their funding their separation from the actual day to day of the school. The kids already don’t eat and go to class with the student body largely (Tech is a bad example of that because they have a lot more real student athletes than many major FB/BB programs but even at the more “academic oriented” FBS power 5 schools it’s still not uncommon for 1/3 or a roster to only Coexist with the student Body at parties, pep rallies and the female dorms.

The proverbial toothpaste is out of the tube at this point. It's not going backwards. The NCAA just recommended a subdivision where there is a pay structure for athletes. They are getting ahead of what seems to be the ultimate destination. The Big Ten and SEC breaking away from the NCAA and creating their own rules and athlete compensation. Some coaches are openly talking about the athletes having a piece of the revenue, like Jim Harbaugh has mentioned on more than a few occasions.justanotherperson wrote: ↑Tue Dec 05, 2023 7:41 am Over 1000 football players entered the portal. What this means for lacrosse is anyone's guess but I doubt much will change in the way of the portal. The only controls they can realistically implement are signing/visiting periods.
Once billions of dollars started following through college sports, it officially became a business and should be treated as such.
