Sure didn't help when we hung our CI's, and their families, out to dry in the debacle, that was the Afghanistan Withdrawal. Worth a listen to this two part series from a CIA Program Analyst that has been entrenched in the ME. We started "hanging them out to dry", not helping them or getting their families the F out of there way back in the Obama admin. And Trump Admin. And then Biden. Multiple stories about it. No one cared.

Re: January 6, 2021: Insurrection or “normal tourist” visitation?
Colorado court order on the effort to disqualify Trump from the ballot there:
https://www.courts.state.co.us/userfile ... 0Order.pdf
It's still -- after all this time -- staggering to read of Trump's incitement to violence and obstruction of the certification, and his deliberate decision to stand by and watch television as the Capitol was breached and defiled. She finds that Trump engaged in insurrection, which she defines in paragraph 240 as "(1) a public use of force or threat of force (2) by a group of people (3) to hinder or prevent execution of the
Constitution of the United States."
There is a very interesting discussion of Brandenburg, culminating in the Judge's conclusions in Paragraph 288. But she finds that "the President" is not an "officer" within the meaning of Section 3, beginning at Paragraph 299.
It is unimaginable that anyone who actually understands and loves this country would do anything, say anything, that eases this guy's path to the White House.
Postscript: Judge Luttig's review of the decision above:
https://twitter.com/judgeluttig/status/ ... 5081594903
"It is unfathomable as a matter of constitutional interpretation that the Presidency of the United States is not an “office under the United States.” It is even more constitutionally unfathomable, if that's possible, that the former president did not take an oath “to support the Constitution of the United States” within the meaning of Section 3 when he took took the presidential oath “to preserve, protect, and defend the Constitution of the United States.”
"The Constitution is not a suicide pact with America's democracy. Indeed, it is the very contrary in this instance. It is plain that the entire purpose of Section 3, confirmed by its literal text, is to disqualify any person who, having taken an oath to support the Constitution, engages in an insurrection or rebellion against the Constitution. The former president did exactly that when he attempted to overturn the 2020 election and remain in office in rebellious violation of the Constitution's Executive Vesting Clause, which prescribes the four-year term of the presidency."

So, this judge ends up making the decision about "office under the United States" because President and Vice President are not specifically listed in the Article?

Re: January 6, 2021: Insurrection or “normal tourist” visitation?
Judge said that they are not "officers" of the United States. Questionable (but her ruling gets the hot potato off her docket) and could very well be overturned on appeal to the Colorado Supreme Court and then to SCOTUS.
She actually has some company with regard to if the President is, indeed, an officer of the United States

He stole a photo off of the desk of the Speaker of the House, and took a wallet in the process. He got 51 months, and killed himself prior to starting his sentence. But over the weekend, with the Mike Johnson release of the J6 tapes, the right started a conspiracy that this guy was just a regular dude filming an important event. Mental health the issue? Nope; the issue these soulless f*cks bring up is that J6 was just a patriotic act of expression, and they are all political prisoners. And YA, predictably and led by the reins of the algo, delivers it here.Typical Lax Dad wrote: ↑Sun Nov 19, 2023 9:21 pmYeah.youthathletics wrote: ↑Sat Nov 18, 2023 4:33 pm A guy filming is a terrorist? Thanks for disseminating lies. I’ll spread what I hope to be true but has to be a lie some more because I really want it to be true. I heard a while back that in movies is Scarlett Johansson liked the guy for intimate scenes she’d tell the guy “it’s ok you can stick it in”. I pray this is true. Im sure Colin jost prays the opposite everyday day/Typical Lax Dad wrote: ↑Mon Nov 20, 2023 8:06 amThanks for disseminating lies. Respectfully, the "popshot" is because you are better and smarter than the misinformation carrier pigeon you have become, following Collin Rugg and other ninkompoops whose entire lives seem to be devoted to springing and spreading falsehoods. The J6 business is serious: a crowd of citizens, angered at the outcome of a fair election and incited by their leader to go to the Capitol and disrupt one of the steps in the orderly transfer of power from one President to a new President, entered the building, Congressional offices and the Speaker's Office, destroyed and stole things. The effort to normalize that behavior is Reichstag Fire stuff. The effort to make criminals into heroes of the resistance is Horst Wessel stuff. The effort to put the former President back in office is Hitler stuff. FFS, stop being a part of it, even, as you suggest, an unwitting part of it.youthathletics wrote: ↑Mon Nov 20, 2023 7:41 amThanks, and it's why I brought it here...I do not follow it nowhere as close you and others. appreciate the popshot.Seacoaster(1) wrote: ↑Mon Nov 20, 2023 7:16 amHe stole a photo off of the desk of the Speaker of the House, and took a wallet in the process.
