Brook just one up'ed you. He just said (above) Charut and Likud are the same. Talking about the Charut party right now is like talking to americans about the Bull Moose Party. This is old, old news. Einstein and many others were opposed to Menachem Begin and the Irgun (which later changed it's stripes and became the Charut party). The Israelis wanted to replace the Brits as the mandate over the land of Israel and the Brits were dragging their feet. They weren't going to walk away easily so Israelis tried different tactics to incentivize them. Large boats with many holocaust survivors were being turned back to Europe because the Brits wouldn't let them into Israel and the Jews were feeling desperate and an obvious urgency and... Begin and the Irgun started performing acts of terrorism. Some of the worst acts were two bombings that resulted in many deaths. Again, lots of people were opposed to their tactics including the US Government and many, many Jews. Not just Einstein. This includes staunch Zionists. When Einstein and so many others spoke of this comparison to the Nazis and fascism, he was speaking explicitly about the Irgun, the terrorism, not the entirety of Israel. Certainly not Israel today. But, for some, to be kind, uneducated people, Irgun and Israel... What's the difference? Charut and Likud, Hamas and Likud, one and the same. Crazy...
