Nealon had a number of offers, including DI football, and now ultimately lands with the Terps.”

Re: Maryland 2024
Believe the last one I knew of to make the team was 2020. Now Tills brought on a goalie last year that had tried out the year before but did not make the team.
Re: Maryland 2024
Kid can do it all, and I think he only gets better from here on out. Some of the best coaching around at Springfield. Historically and presently committed community. A funnel of fundamentals honed. That team takes on the personality of Tom Lemieux. Edgy and confident, but rooted in the hours required to compete everywhere. Frank Urso at Garnet Valley has had as much or more talent and hasn't had the bounces go his team's way, nor made the adjustments to get the most out of those rosters offensively.AreaLax wrote: ↑Sat Sep 23, 2023 4:13 pmHe went 44-39-83 as a sophomore to lead help lead Springfield to D1 title and state final appearancejff97 wrote: ↑Sat Sep 23, 2023 3:31 pm Looks like the Terps added another commit this afternoon in Pat Flaherty, per IG. SEPA has seen a number of players contribute as Terps. McGlone and Long being the highlights for me. Hailing from rival programs. Now a gem in Flaherty IMO.

Rambo, Dougherty, Wierman, Amato

Kyle Long tore it up at Springfield.
Matt Rahill was a multi-year starter.
Eric Spanos is going to leave a mark.

Re: Maryland 2024
Saw almost the entire scrimmage against Harvard and the first half against St. Joe's. 14-9 win against Harvard. 15-12 (ish...I heard later) win over SJU.
Erksa didn't play for the Terps. Malever played the first half of the Harvard game and went 2 and 1. Jack Koras was all over the place on offense scoring from everywhere. First MF line was Koras, Whittier, and Spanos. Cayden Onagi looks like he's going to be tough to keep off the field. Mixed in at MF and attack and was a threat at both. UVM transfers looked good. Canfield is a tank. Sharkey is a big dude at shorty. Alviti has length and speed but had some TOs when he carried into the offensive end. Burlace, Zappitello, and Schaller at close. Ruppel in goal. McNaney in sweats. Daniel Kelly looked slimmer and was moving really well. Was dodging from lots of different places.
Physically, Maryland was just a mismatch for Harvard.
SJU came out really fired up. They smashed Lehigh in their first scrimmage. Jumped out early on the Terps, but the Terps closed and lead at half 8-6. Siracusa had some great plays. The second MF line is going to be a problem for opponents again this season.

Thanks, Wheels! Who was running on the second line? And wonder why Erksa didn’t play?

Heard a hand injury that isn't serious.PulpExposure wrote: ↑Sat Oct 14, 2023 10:13 pm Thanks, Wheels! Who was running on the second line? And wonder why Erksa didn’t play?
The second MF line was Siracusa, Brennan, and Onagi to start. Once Onagi moved to attack when Malever shut it down for the day, Maltz looked like he was running out of the box. Murphy looked good at attack. It's going to be really interesting to see how the coaches sort out the rotation once Erksa returns. Does Murphy move back to MF, or does Erksa run as a MF with Malever back at X? Onagi was dangerous every time he touched the ball, whether at MF or attack. He looks like he's going to be hard to keep off the field.
Siracusa had some "wow" plays against SJU. He nailed like a 13-yard snipe off a roll-back. A couple of plays later, he drew a double while sweeping to the middle of the field and threw a spot feed to Koras, who was moving toward the crease. Whenever he got the ball on the wing, he looked like he was shot out of a cannon as he started dodging.

great write-up. nice to hear about Onagi; I've wondered for the past few years if a classic Canadian box-type score could improve the Terps offense (Donville was obvious, but Onagi and McPherson have great highlights too).Wheels wrote: ↑Sat Oct 14, 2023 10:09 pm Saw almost the entire scrimmage against Harvard and the first half against St. Joe's. 14-9 win against Harvard. 15-12 (ish...I heard later) win over SJU.

Really hoping that Erksa doesnt have the usual Maryland lacrosse October quadruple knee injury; he's Shellenberger without the name and history.

McPherson got some good run today in both scrimmages, and he looked good. Had a nice skip pass to Charlie Koras for a goal.keno in reno wrote: ↑Sat Oct 14, 2023 11:07 pmgreat write-up. nice to hear about Onagi; I've wondered for the past few years if a classic Canadian box-type score could improve the Terps offense (Donville was obvious, but Onagi and McPherson have great highlights too).Wheels wrote: ↑Sat Oct 14, 2023 10:09 pm Saw almost the entire scrimmage against Harvard and the first half against St. Joe's. 14-9 win against Harvard. 15-12 (ish...I heard later) win over SJU.

Erksa was walking around on the sidelines. Didn't seem to have any issues. Think keeping him out was precautionary.
Also cool to see Jared back on the Terps' sideline. He was working one-on-one with players on the sideline during the game.
Re: Maryland 2024
Thanks Wheels! On D it was Zap, Burlace and Schaller at close with McDonald and Alviti running at LSM. Did Larkin play in tight or LSM? I know in another post you mentioned Redd, Kolar, Sharkey as Shorties with Wicks, Holmes, Stamos getting runs and looking good. Wicks has tremendous speed and now carrying more muscle. The bull Vermont transfer Canfield played close covering SJU’s Anderson. What other Poles were at close with Canfield? my understanding is Onagi is the surprise. The brief times he was on the field last year, I saw his super quick shooting release and based on his JUCO, he is a scorer.
Really excited about this team!

Don’t get me wrong, Erksa’s great, but Shelly?

McDonald and Larkin played LSM. Larkin and Alviti were trading runs at LSM. Burlace, Zappitello, and Schaller played close. I didn't catch who who rotated in after that aside from Canfield. Stamos looked really good out there as a shorty. Josh Coffman was in sweats on the sidelines.MDralphie wrote: ↑Sun Oct 15, 2023 7:49 am Thanks Wheels! a little hyperbole by a Terp fan on a Terps forum, not a hot take or a big deal. Shellenberger is great.Laxguy703 wrote: ↑Sun Oct 15, 2023 9:11 amThat’s a very very very hot take.keno in reno wrote: ↑Sat Oct 14, 2023 11:07 pm [quote=Wheels post_id=496826 time=1697335799 user_id=1339

It was noted that Josh Coffman was on the sidelines in sweats but he was not on the 2024 roster just posted. His #28 is available so U guess there's hope.
