So you're saying there's still a chance he comes to Hop?51percentcorn wrote: ↑Thu Oct 05, 2023 2:50 pmWithout going into boring detail - I completely midread a post on the recruitment thread - my bad.

LOL
But I think I have another data point for the Black Hole's letter to the NCAA. If Merrill does commit to Virginia - a whopping - whopping I tell you - 15 of the 19 Inside Lacrosse 5* will have committed to ACC schools - and I believe Syracuse only has 1 so 14 of the 19 are committed to only 4 schools - all ACC. AND 2 of the other 4 are committed to Maryland who used to be in the ACC - a coincidence? I think not. I believe the BIG and maybe the IVY, Big East and Patriot League commish's and lacrosse staff would be very intrested in his findings and statistical analysis. Glad I coud help.

Re: Johns Hopkins 2024
BTW - did anyone else happen to catch - since we are discussing NIL and recruiting - that EVERY scholarship player on the University of Utah's football team will receive - wait for it -
a 2024 Ram 1500 Big Horn truck with the Night Edition package. The lease and insurance costs are being fully funded by donors of the Crimson Collective, although the athletes will need to each cover the taxes on their lease. I think - at one time - UVA lacrosse players were well known for riding scooters - I think Sag A has to go undercover at the Vespa delaership.

He lists UVA, UNC, Duke, Maryland, PSU on IL. I had heard the winds were blowing toward one of the two Carolina schools but hmmm appears to have heard different.nyjay wrote: ↑Thu Oct 05, 2023 3:23 pmSo you're saying there's still a chance he comes to Hop?51percentcorn wrote: ↑Thu Oct 05, 2023 2:50 pmWithout going into boring detail - I completely midread a post on the recruitment thread - my bad.
Rost can really sling it. Quick release and looks pretty slippery dodging out of the box too. Staff put together a solid looking class.
Re: Johns Hopkins 2024
ACC schools are always attractive as most have some combination of- comely ladies, big revenue sports, decent weather, alright academics, lacrosse and other sports alumni, location, state school prices etc. When you add in the uncertainty in the Hop program, the losing, the loss of the 35+years of relationships Petro and his crew had-Benson got into the running for that Millon kid, it's not a surprise we're not getting the 5 stars, for now.51percentcorn wrote: ↑Thu Oct 05, 2023 3:36 pm LOL

Hard to lump together the ACC schools under those parameters. Disagree with the Hop-related stuff. While I could care less about getting "5-stars", it isn't a surprise that good players want to go to Duke, UVa, and ND. We're getting good players in the last 3 recruiting cycles, too. I really don't understand all the hand-wringing. Maybe don't look at IL for awhile and watch what's actually happening?jhu06 wrote: ↑Fri Oct 06, 2023 9:05 amACC schools are always attractive as most have some combination of- comely ladies, big revenue sports, decent weather, alright academics, lacrosse and other sports alumni, location, state school prices etc.

Re: Johns Hopkins 2024
It's so weird that you keep saying this? With all due respect to Bobby, there is absolutely no evidence whatsoever to suggest Providence was "in the running" for Millon. According to the video, the kid merely fielded a phone call from Providence at some point. He probably had contact of some kind with 30-40 coaching staffs. It's abundantly clear which schools were actually in the running.
If these people couldn't hand-wring, they'd have no purpose anymore. That's what drives them. It's not enjoyment of the game or support for the program. It's the pathological need to be upset. I mean this with all sincerity — if and when the day comes when we win another title, they will still behave like this. It's who they are down to the core.primitiveskills wrote: ↑Fri Oct 06, 2023 10:26 am Hard to lump together the ACC schools under those parameters. Disagree with the Hop-related stuff. Rain in the forecast on Long Island tomorrow, hopefully still a decent crowd for Headstrong.

Collison dumps it to Peshko in a nice two man exchange, and Peshko pastes a top corner. Game tied at 2, 32 seconds left in Q1.

More transition from Hop. Cody Ince runs a break, and Hop made probably two extra passes, ended up with Melendez who dunks it home. 3-2 Hop lead, and Lehigh hit with a penalty after the play.

Ierlan has made some excellent saves and pushed transition well. Hopkins defense looks aggressive, but Lehigh is counterpunching well.

Hopkins defense is aggressive enough that they're doubling a shorty with a shorty. Aviles just went and doubled Raposo's man and put the ball on the ground.

Stuart Phillips scores for Hop on the extra man; he and Chauvette look like EMO specialist type players today. Melendez found Phillips with time and room and he canned it, 2-2 with 6:20 left in Q2.
