Maryland 2019
Re: Maryland 2019
Penn beat Brown, which is good for the Terps.
Brown's 7-8 record could drop Penn's RPI from the top 5 though.
- can that thought, laf's RPI has Penn up to #4. Hurrah.

As Terp fans, I think we know what will happen in the end. Despite the fact that there are 4 or 5 teams fighting not the be the team left out. When we tune in Sunday night, we will find the Selection committee telling us that it came down to UMd and Hopkins as the last 2, and Hopkins beat UMd twice head-to-head.

Another thing Terps fans could root for tomorrow is for Richmond to beat High Point. According to laf's RPI rankings Richmond currently has the #22 RPI, a scant .0057 behind #20 UMass. A win over 14-2 High Point would seem to almost certainly push Richmond to #20 and give the Terps another quality win.

With Cornell down 4 with 5 minutes left in the game (even as Cornell is making a run here), you have to feel better about the Terps' at large bid.
Re: Maryland 2019
Timmy Monahan is having a good day so far for Towson (2g, 3a). The Terps could have used his outside shooting, no?
Re: Maryland 2019
You called it. McEwen from IL has UR's RPI up to 19. Gives the Terps 5 T20 wins compared to Cornell's 2.Cooter wrote: ↑Fri May 03, 2019 9:38 pm Another thing Terps fans could root for tomorrow is for Richmond to beat High Point. Terps made it. Play #6 seed Towson on Sunday (at Towson).
So we can breath easy for a few days.

Happy to see this rivalry rejuvenated in the NCAAT and just as happy to be able to walk to the game. Terps were riding high most of the season while Towson started strong, hit a few bumps, and captured the CAA. Will Woodall be ready? Will the Terps be able to crack the Tiger d led by Goodrich, Smith, and the. Westminster contingent?

Re: Maryland 2019
I admit I only saw Towson play once this year, but I would not breathe easy.
They were tough at the X, played physical, but clean D, and seemed to value their possessions.
[Edit: If Woodall is out with a broken jaw, that might change the possession game]
Be in their flowing cups freshly rememb'red.

Why not? The game is not till Sunday.44WeWantMore wrote: ↑Sun May 05, 2019 9:53 pmI admit I only saw Towson play once this year, but I would not breathe easy.
The team and coaches have to start worrying about it.

Should be a great atmosphere in Towson. Really looking forward to playoff lacrosse.Cooter wrote: ↑Sun May 05, 2019 10:38 pmWhy not? The game is not till Sunday.44WeWantMore wrote: ↑Sun May 05, 2019 9:53 pmI admit I only saw Towson play once this year, but I would not breathe easy.

Far as bad as the regular season ended, this is the best possible draw that the Terps could expect. Woodall is the key. If he plays and is effective, the Terps have shown that their defense can wear down. If Woodall is out or not 100%, the Terps have the offense to win the game. Towson can struggle on offense at times. Of course, the question, too, is whether the Terps have confidence.
Beat Towson and draw UVA in the quarters? I'll take that match up any day. Quint was alluding to that last night during the broadcast. He saw that draw for the Terps and knew it was a better draw than having to face anyone on the left side of the bracket.

I'll never understand why anyone would ever allow themselves to look beyond one game in an NCAA lacrosse tournament.
(btw, Woodall's replacement so far has better FOGO %'s than Woodall)

I'll take my chances with his back-up playing on the big stage. Woodall has been on that stage.Peter Brown wrote: ↑Mon May 06, 2019 4:30 pmWheels wrote: ↑Mon May 06, 2019 3:53 pm Far as bad as the regular season ended, this is the best possible draw that the Terps could expect. I wonder if Woodall will make the miraculous recovery that Ament made../Wheels wrote: ↑Mon May 06, 2019 8:54 pmI'll take my chances with his back-up playing on the big stage. Re: Maryland 2019
The chatter is that he has a broken jaw. He was dressed for the Drexel game but didn't play. Towson lists his injury as a head injury, so maybe it's a concussion. If he does have a broken jaw and does play, wow...dude is HOF tough.
Re: Maryland 2019
Most likely a dislocated jaw. Painful after reduction but, not crippling. If so, he maybe GTG.
