Disappointing end to a good season. Lots to look forward to. Players can hold their heads up.
Coaching strategy on O has to get less predictable, especially to take advantage of inside guys like Knox.
Got to figure out how to play 4 quarters ... as we stopped going deep on the chart, our 4th quarter play got weak. Also got to figure a way to keep the guys from tensing up (visible since Cornell game). Maybe some off season yoga classes ... RMU stayed pretty cool, and I think that made the difference in the end. I think that is their coaching.
Hats off to Sam for stellar play today. The D had flashes of complete brilliance in the last two games. Really awesome to see, especially since they are all coming back (hopefully with a healthy Mueller too).
Great class of seniors who really deserve a better ending. They really stepped up in leadership ... let's not forget the turnaround in record from 2018. These are upstanding people that the school should be proud of.
A few more 11 and 6 seasons, and maybe we can improve the early SOS again. That will serve us well in the NEC. It's the right league for us, and it will be a battle for years to come.
We have some great players returning, and I'm looking forward to seeing them hit their full potential next year.

Heger made 3 saves in the 2nd half and got the tournament MVP.

Thanks to the Seniors and to the entire team for giving us 11 wins and a big leap forward from last year. I like our chances in the NEC going forward . We were not perfect but yesterday the team clawed back and almost pulled it off, By my count there were three freakish goals where a ball was batted into an RMU stick or into free space and the RMU player took advantage of the opportunity and scored. Congrats to RMU for taking advantage and beating us for a second time. Reality has now sunk it, but we have many reasons to be optimistic for next year . No complaints or criticisms, I just wish the ball bounced more favorably yesterday and we were the ones moving on....Until next year....

I guess it's normal to be down when the team loses and there was so much expectations JUST to make the big dance. But do we really think Hobart will win a National Championship on the D1 level. I guess the thinking is, maybe with the attraction of the new facilities and there availability regardless of the weather Hobart will rise to the next level.

Saw a couple of Statesman games this year, they were an exciting team and enjoyable watch.

Hurts now but only one team stands at year end, Hobart players can be proud of a very good year

Congrats to the team for an amazing turnaround from last year. A bidg thank you to all the seniors for their dedication to our program and representing Hobart so well. May you all find success in your post collegiate lives. You were a lot more fun to watch this season. The organized chaos as Ted Baker once called it gave us some really exciting games along with numerous records being set. While we lose a LOT of talent to graduation, we return a ton as well. Finals and graduation for some are now the focus. And just like that, this season is done. To the returning players, take some time and rest yourselves for a bit. The 2020 season is about to start.

What difference does it make if we can or can't? Playing a competitive D1 sport with our student body size is something to cherish.

I agree wholeheartedly. I thought about the prospect of moving back to D3 last year and competing in the Liberty League, but I think retuning to the glory days of Championships by moving back to D3 is looking for fools gold with the expansion of lacrosse and the intense recruiting on the D3 level now. I am happy to compete for the NEC title and get a chance to win a game or maybe even two in the NCAAs. We have proven our ability to play at a high level this year , and I think the aggressiveness will continue in 2020. We do have some holes to fill at FO , attack and midfield, but I think our returners and the recruiting class will be able to reload next year. The defense will be more experienced and even without Mueller showed some meaningful toughness and improvement the last few games, and Sam L was a delight to watch in goal yesterday.

Not the way we wanted to see it end but when you look back at what happened in the 2018 season we can hold our heads high. Congrats to this senior class for taking one of the worst seasons in Hobart history and one year later turning it into the best in the D1 Era.

Lots to look forward to and remember that this talented freshman class is looking at this 11-4 season as a disappointment.

Our freshman class, in retrospect, looks like it could have been a Top 20 class nationally. Christianson making FIRST-TEAM NEC! And Madonna 2nd team. Burch showed something we need by the end of the season, a Vanderbeek type midfield dodger. Really nice piece to add to the mix. Knox also all-Freshman team. Simas showed promise.

Barthelme is basically the right handed version of Knox in size . . . saw him a couple of times, once down here in Florida. A great late get for us.

Andrew Vona - we've had pretty good results with Lincoln-Sudbury lately

I haven't looked at much for the rest yet.

Checked out Barthelme, they say he is 6'8" and quite a basketball player at St. Pauls as well. There might be some competition between coaches for his talent.

That's tall for a D3 basketball team, yet alone D1 lacrosse. I hope he fits in the new bubble ;)
