My friend and wife have been escaping hellish heat in Tucson with an extended stay in Chicago. They were recently at a Springsteen concert at Wrigley Field and came down with Covid afterwards. Neither has had Covid in past and are fully vaccinated. Of course Springsteen cancels his next concert in Philly due to illness. With some Paxlovid my friends are recovering very well. I guess there’s always risk at superspreader events.
Wrigley is outdoors isn't it? They probably got it on the plane or elsewhere. Were they masked at the concert? Was Springsteen masked?

TLD's advice......always.....is always wear a mask. They work. just like tRumps fake shot.

Or course, since fully vaccinated....they got it less. why in the world would they take paxlovid, if fully vaccinated? phizer make that too

the booster sales have been REAL real slow. Hopefully, the FDA does a better marketing job with it's fear porn.

do booster shots expire ? do they have to be kept real, real cold, like the original covid fake shots ?

Springsteen cancels concert

The Boss cancels concert due to "illness". MUST be the new variant. Pay NO attention to the date. None.

Forty some thousand people in close quarters, exhaling vigorously. That sounds like a potential spreader event to me.

Friends did not fly to Chicago nor wear a mask. Then Springsteen misses next show in Philly due to “illness”. Maybe he’s the spreader.

Springsteen played this set list:

No super spreader event.

It was a protest.

Totally safe.

Can't be....remember, we were told the BLM protests were not super spreaders.

Just heard him talking about the debacle/Lobbying monopoly of the FDA on the SRS podcast. And how it takes 10 years for everyone else and not even allow others to try it, and yet CV19 vaxx was expedited and forced to be taken.

On the Current Covid "Surge": Misinformation from the Media and the Experts

A recent rise in Covid prevalence highlights an ongoing problem of hypocrisy around public health misinformation.

"Like many media outlets and some fellow doctors who seek a public profile, Wachter has repeatedly positioned himself as a truth-telling antidote to misinformation. These doctors, including Wachter, and legacy media outlets often do convey accurate and helpful content. But their messaging is also often, at best, dubious, and at worst itself misinformation. Coverage of the recent “surge” is a powerful case study on this point, and a telling example of the establishment’s hypocrisy."

That makes no sense at all. Staying away from other people and covering your nose and mouth when you cough and sneeze does nothing to stop the spread of germs. It’s common knowledge here.

Actual common knowledge unfortunately requires hammering home with a sledgehammer. Same with the UK Cholera outbreak and John Snow.

Of course Anti-vaxers and others think they're following in the same footsteps, and double down when studies don't support them. Quite the conundrum.

'Unvaccinated' Does Not Mean Unprotected
The False Claims (Pseudoscience) Provided by Governments and Doctors over the Last Three Years

"Question 1: How can a synthetic (man-made) drug be claimed to be ‘safe and effective’ or that the benefits far outweigh the risks, without this long-term data?

Question 2: Why did governments claim that it “would prevent people getting COVID disease” from the beginning of the roll out, when it was never tested in clinical trials, to see if it prevented COVID disease?"
