Lots of lefty’s and many of them will get a chance to play plus the added kids from Cabrini and the other transfersLaxattackjack wrote: ↑Tue Jul 18, 2023 9:01 amFrom what I recall, most of the offensive commits this year are lefty attack man. Most will end up playing midfield.Lamaatemyhw wrote: ↑Mon Jul 17, 2023 11:14 pm The third Cabrini player is from the Philly area and played club for Brotherly Love. He’s listed as a left hand attackman. Glad to hear that the 2024 class is starting to shape up. Looks like the first commit listed on insidelacrosse database is another left handed attackman.

Putting all this together. Unless things have changed. Here is what York could have this fall
20 freshman (original 17 plus 3 Cabrini)
6 sophomores.
12 juniors
9 seniors
Possibly up to 7 grads
That puts the roster in the mid 50’s

I’m sure they’ll have some grads (heard Jude Brown)
Over 50 with more than half underclassmen/newcomers.
Tufts projects at ;
12 fr
15 soph
18 jr
10 sr
Haven’t heard any grad for them, have heard the big names leaving for grad elsewhere.
Over 50 with almost exactly half underclassmen.
W&L projects at ;
13 fr
15 soph
11 jr
15 sr
Over 50, over half underclassmen…. The list goes on…
Over 50, planning for attrition, and about half underclassmen seems to be par.
Re: York 2024
There will always be attrition at this level as some kids can not handle the demands of school and the program some simply use lacrosse to get into the school and some can read the writing on the wall and realize that they will not play because of several reasons. Carry more than 50 in the fall, for some teams. Will become the norm as they look to hit at around 50 for the spring.RE6ULATOR wrote: ↑Tue Jul 18, 2023 8:48 pmSalisbury projects at ;Laxattackjack wrote: ↑Tue Jul 18, 2023 12:56 pm Putting all this together. I noticed this week. SMCM announced they hired a lifting coach for the lax team (first ever). Wondering does York have this? If Not, why?

I believe Isaiah Colemore is still involved on some level in a strength and conditioning capacity.Laxattackjack wrote: ↑Thu Jul 20, 2023 3:59 pm I noticed this week. SMCM announced they hired a lifting coach for the lax team (first ever). Wondering does York have this? If Not, why?

A S&C coach just for lacrosse??? That would be a first, or one of the fewLaxattackjack wrote: ↑Thu Jul 20, 2023 3:59 pm I noticed this week. SMCM announced they hired a lifting coach for the lax team (first ever). Wondering does York have this? If Not, why?
You can look at the (different) make up and infrastructure of both athletic departments. St. Mary's is a little deeper.
York may not have the money at this time
First of all, ya better check your tone. I dont think you know who you're talking to. I'm Leonard Washington...I don't get butt naked for nobody!!
Re: York 2024
Yep. Saw him plugged by their social media not too long ago, thanking him for a S&C session. When he was an actual assistant with the team, he wore many hats. Even did S&C for other York teams as well.DeepPocket wrote: ↑Thu Jul 20, 2023 5:44 pmI believe Isaiah Colemore is still involved on some level in a strength and conditioning capacity.Laxattackjack wrote: ↑Thu Jul 20, 2023 3:59 pm I noticed this week. There is talk that York won’t be part of the Mustang classic. Wonder what other changes to the schedule? Will York try to get a softer schedule , playing more regional teams?
Has York ever missed being part of this event?

Re: York 2024
I am retry sure that Mustang Classic is 10 teams and it is likely that York will be there.

Re: York 2024
Interesting to see this article. 22 D3 players from last season, will be playing D1 in 2024. But only 4 of those players are undergraduate. Mayer being one of them. And of the 4 undergrads, only Mayer is going to a top school that can compete in May. This brings the question(s). Is Mayer really that good? Will York struggle to replace the talent and production Mayer provided?

IMO, no and no. York will be fine and OSU has a lot of talent on their offense. It will be an interesting fall. I think that Bruun from Tufts will get a long look with OSULaxattackjack wrote: ↑Thu Aug 10, 2023 9:00 am Interesting to see this article. 22 D3 players from last season, will be playing D1 in 2024. I think yes and yes. Not to say York won’t eventually figure it out and be fine but I think it may take a little to replace there best player for two years. He is definitely good enough, kid was a stud and has D1 size.
Re: York 2024
I hope that Mayer plays and starts the next two years but my honest assessment is that he is a step slow, he tends to be a ball dominate player, while not great lax IQ, he also struggled against top defenders who he will see constantly. He could be a solid piece for OSU but there is a reason they are bringing in a bunch of offensive players this year. I have heard that there are other aspects of his game that may not be missed either.Low2high22 wrote: ↑Thu Aug 10, 2023 1:21 pmAsgot wrote: ↑Thu Aug 10, 2023 11:28 amIMO, no and no.
