Coaching Carousel 2023 - D1
Re: Coaching Carousel 2023 - D1
" Thompson served as the head coach at Amhert for 10 seasons. During his time at Amhert, Thompson and the Mammoth won 125 games, as the program reached the Division III NCAA Championship in 2019. Thompson began his head coaching career at Colby, leading the program for two seasons (2009-10). "

can UNC's comms team teach their team to make those kinds of fundamental mistakes on the field against Hopkins for the next half decade?

If I were Thompson, I would have picked unc over uva as well Breachi in year 15 and in final year of contract next year. Unc perennial underperformed. Lars in year 7 and has turned uva program into consistent top 4 team. Thompson could be head coach at unc in two to three years.bearlaxfan wrote: ↑Fri Jun 16, 2023 4:48 pmHmmm. Thompson coached as OC under Lars for at least 2 years at Brown, but potentially goes to UNC as OC when Virginia needs one also.AreaLax wrote: ↑Fri Jun 16, 2023 4:26 pm Per Chris Jastrzembski twitter
UNC opening
“ I'm told Air Force associate head coach Jon Thompson will take over as an assistant with North Carolina, per multiple sources.”
UVA opening
“ Furthermore, I'm told there is also movement with the vacant assistant role at Virginia which was previously held by Dartmouth head coach Sean Kirwan.
One of the names I've heard could create another head coach opening at a Division I school.”
Thompson royally screwed over by Amherst. Is both an excellent tactician and leader of young men. Have many friends whose kids are former players from Amherst who would run through walls for JT.
He deserves a preeminent job in division. Hopefully this is his final stop before getting one!!

Word is that ex-Utah coach Brian Holman, a Maryland native, is being talked about for the Mount St. Mary's job, too.
Re: Coaching Carousel 2023 - D1
breschi just signed a 3 year extension. if breschi isn't renewed after that, it's not likely the offense is straight fire. this would make it more than unlikely thompson will be the next head coach at unc, at least not in 3 years.Womenslaxxfan wrote: ↑Sat Jun 17, 2023 10:31 amIf I were Thompson, I would have picked unc over uva as well Breachi in year 15 and in final year of contract next year. Any predictions as to who may be next in line at Queens?
Re: Coaching Carousel 2023 - D1
Would think Greg Paradine would be an ideal fit bit have zero inside information. Knows the area well. LR was likely better than Queens this year.gymman1031 wrote: ↑Mon Jun 19, 2023 1:48 pm Any predictions as to who may be next in line at Queens?

I would think Will Scudder slides right in there unless a big name comes calling.

Essentially they are a D1 program with a D2 budget and D2 coaches pay.

I think it is even more clear now that Cassese is hungry to be the next coach at Duke.

Per multiple people (Chris Jast and Xanders), looks like Scudder is taking over at Lehigh permanently.

your comment, and many comments on coaches, speak(s) to what you think they're up to or what kind of hot water they're in. with little to no evidence. just an observation.
