Little East Conference 2023

Post by laxinaround23 »

LEC Pre-Season Poll
1. UMass-Boston
t2. WestConn
t2. Keene
4. Mass. Maritime
5. Eastern
6. Plymouth
7. Castleton
8. Southern Maine
9. Salem

The top 3 teams seem to have separated themselves from the pack. Most 2023 rosters have been uploaded. Who are the key newcomers? Can Eastern get themselves back into the top end of the league? Can Keene or Western knock off Boston? Can any of these teams crack the top 20? Just some questions I have as we open the 2023 season.

LEC Games this week:
WestConn opens up for the LEC on Thursday vs a very good New York Maritime team.
Keene vs Endicott on Saturday
Boston vs Salve on Saturday

Is it time to say westconn has leaped Keene ? They’ve had the better team 3 years in a row now

Keene State will be back. Once every few years a random team wins the LEC. Consistency wins championships and Keene has had that for the last 25 years. It wont be long until Keene is back on top.

While I don't disagree that Keene will be back (great coaches, good facility, long tradition of success, good location); it's worth noting that the 2023 graduates are the first Keene class in almost 20 years to not have won the conference during their time at Keene....as I write that, I'm realizing how insane it is that since 2004 this is the first time Keene has gone more than 2 seasons without winning the LEC.

2020- COVID
2021- Boston
2022- Boston
2023- West Conn

It will be very interesting to see how the LEC shakes out in the post COVID waiver eligibility world...a lot of 5th and 6th year guys impacted this conference in the past few seasons.

Very true. We have one more year of the Covid 5 th years before we are back to 4 and done. I do think one pretty big change has been westconn changing admission protocol to now give all New York residents in state tuition. You see it playing out already with pretty much all the top 10 scorers on the team being from New York
