Re: Johns Hopkins 2024
Why on Earth would Hopkins trade away a game against Syracuse at Homewood for a game in Charlotte, NC?AreaLax wrote: ↑Fri Jun 09, 2023 8:22 pm Hopkins s Cuse game to be played in Charlotte, NC. Get your tickets now

Recruiting? Then schedule a game at Duke, PM-style … on a Tuesday night after a Saturday double-header against Virginia and North Carolina.

not getting any tickets through that web-site (I know area..was kidding) as their server is apparently a hamster on one of those wheels. This is a little bit of a head scratcher from a couple of perspectives - I'm sure there are many talented lacrosse players in the Charlotte area but recruiting can't be the focus. 957 people watched the Jacksonville High Point game in the 2023 Crown City Classic. Photos of the game make me wonder how they got to that many. So somebody is committed to making this a thing and has convinced the Orange and the Jays it is worth their while. Hopkins Syracuse will draw more than a 1,000 people but how many more - with TV these days you get 5,500 in the Dome this year and 2300 @ Homewood last year. No guarantee Charlotte will be all that warm on March 9th either. I'd like to see Hopkins get in on that Naples, FL thing - over 4000 people watched UVA Ohio State - alot warmer.

I'm sure the cuse fans know whats going on because they probably have more interaction with their athletic department. Releasing it on a summer friday was weird.51percentcorn wrote: ↑Sat Jun 10, 2023 7:38 am not getting any tickets through that web-site (I know area..was kidding) as their server is apparently a hamster on one of those wheels. Apparently Babb had a pitcher throw 160 pitches against lynchburg in the college world series. I don't know much about baseball but that's a bit of a wow for kids who aren't going pro.
Re: Johns Hopkins 2024
It was dropped because the PLL was playing in Charlotte at the same stadium that the event is held in so it coincided with that.

Marcille is leaving. Got his own goodbye post on social media. One of the easiest Jays to root for ever.

Patient in earning his opportunity to play and had a terrific final season with the Blue Jays. Best wishes to him.HopFan16 wrote: ↑Mon Jun 12, 2023 10:53 am Marcille is leaving. Got his own goodbye post on social media. One of the easiest Jays to root for ever.

Sad to see him go, great story and fun to watch. Team will need to find a new spark plug over the off season.
Goalie room now sits at 3 and not much experience right?

Re: Johns Hopkins 2024
We see all sorts of nonsense here about why kids don't or shouldn't want to go to Hopkins and at least from the outside he looked like he really embraced the experience in those press conferences. A lot of those kids in those news events across the schools look miserable even after wins and Marcille always seemed really engaged and proud of the program and the staff. Certantly a nice post from the school.
I think it was last year but 51 had the post of posts for this forum and maybe the terp and big ten ones as well looking at the difference in goaltending between Hop and Maryland over the last decade plus. There have been all sorts of stats, excuses, agendas, on/off record charges, about why the 2 programs have differed in their results over the period of time but his on the goaltending stats seemed like the most direct connection and now PM, JK and the Kelly gentleman have a new challenge going into next year. Early recruits have almost all graduated or left, we seem to have semi solved the gb and ssdm things, I'm probably in the small minority on the midfield issues and so replacing Marcille becomes PM's biggest issue now it seems although some of you see the attack as an issue.

Re: Johns Hopkins 2024
Per TX: Chayse Irelan and Hunter Chauvette to Hopkins.
Re: Johns Hopkins 2024
Per IL
Huge news x2 for @jhumenslacrosse, as @CornellLacrosse AA goalie Chayse Ierlan will join the Jays as a grad student.
No. 21 senior Hunter Chauvette is also Homewood-bound after the former Yale commit had a change of heart. Lefty who shoots like O'Keefe.

PM lands an HM AA goalie and steals a top recruit from Yale. That’s a good day’s work.AreaLax wrote: ↑Mon Jun 12, 2023 4:54 pm Per IL

Re: Johns Hopkins 2024
So the recruiting plan going forward is to just have the entire Lawrencville team matriculate to JHU every year?
