I would hope a kid that close to graduating from Stanford would stick around to finish her degree. There are some schools that are just golden tickets when it comes to the diploma. Stanford is one of them. Similar places like Yale and Harvard. I saw a kid on the men’s side transfer from Yale to Jacksonville before graduating. Yikes. I know everyone’s personal situation is different. But I would hope he doesn’t regret having a degree from Jacksonville versus Yale 20 years from now.

I say Terps need a strong dodger more than a feeder, but Humprey would be a great additionwlaxphan20 wrote: ↑Wed Jun 07, 2023 11:12 amObviously, yes, haha - but more so specifically teams that desperately need a facilitator on attacknjbill wrote: ↑Wed Jun 07, 2023 10:59 amAll of them?wlaxphan20 wrote: ↑Wed Jun 07, 2023 10:56 am Just thinking of teams that could benefit from a player like Humphrey.

I can see that need as well, Maryland needs help on offense in general.user1020 wrote: ↑Wed Jun 07, 2023 2:15 pmI say Terps need a strong dodger more than a feeder, but Humprey would be a great additionwlaxphan20 wrote: ↑Wed Jun 07, 2023 11:12 amObviously, yes, haha - but more so specifically teams that desperately need a facilitator on attacknjbill wrote: ↑Wed Jun 07, 2023 10:59 amAll of them?wlaxphan20 wrote: ↑Wed Jun 07, 2023 10:56 am Just thinking of teams that could benefit from a player like Humphrey.

Both are outstanding players ... and based on how they managed COVID may even have 2 years of eligibility left. Neither Ivy or NESCAC had a season in 2021 if memory serves. Nice to see them use the chance to try something new out West.user1020 wrote: ↑Tue Jun 06, 2023 4:19 pmNever seen either play but looking at stats they are good pick ups. If this is true hats off the Ashley and her very savvy parents. Perfectly played. Good for them!hmmm wrote: ↑Wed Jun 07, 2023 9:57 amFinishing her degree at Stanford this summer and moving on. 2 years of eligibility left.LaxPundit07 wrote: ↑Wed Jun 07, 2023 9:25 amI would hope a kid that close to graduating from Stanford would stick around to finish her degree. Re: Transfer portal
Interesting situation. Youngest Humphries starts at UNC next year. Oldest Humphries leaving UNC as grad student partly because unhappy at UNC and middie Humphries leaving Stanford. Do any want to play together, and where will they all fall.
Re: Transfer portal
Older two played together for three years in high school (I'm assuming middle played her frosh year). Younger two would have played one year together in HS but COVID precluded that when the 2020 season was cancelled. Ashley feeding Chloe? Heaven help the opposition.
I got to see the older two once in HS, at the 2019 Gains for Brains when Darien played Eastport South Manor with Kasey Choma. Fantastic game which ESM won with a late (last sec?) goal by Choma.

Re: Transfer portal
Just curious, do you know first hand that Nicole was unhappy at UNC?
And we already know where Nicole is going
Re: Transfer portal
Yes they do. I wonder if Terps will look at Tierney from Richmond at all. LoPinto would be a big additionwlaxphan20 wrote: ↑Wed Jun 07, 2023 2:23 pmI can see that need as well, Maryland needs help on offense in general.user1020 wrote: ↑Wed Jun 07, 2023 2:15 pmI say Terps need a strong dodger more than a feeder, but Humprey would be a great additionwlaxphan20 wrote: ↑Wed Jun 07, 2023 11:12 amObviously, yes, haha - but more so specifically teams that desperately need a facilitator on attacknjbill wrote: ↑Wed Jun 07, 2023 10:59 amAll of them?wlaxphan20 wrote: ↑Wed Jun 07, 2023 10:56 am Just thinking of teams that could benefit from a player like Humphrey.

Maybe UNC did not have the graduate program she was looking to enroll inwlaxphan20 wrote: ↑Wed Jun 07, 2023 3:11 pmJust curious, do you know first hand that Nicole was unhappy at UNC?

Re: Transfer portal
Yes - know from good sources that Nicole was not happy at UNC. USC also right fit from a graduate program standpoint.
Re: Transfer portal
Very curious where Ball ends up going. She is a very valuable player on the defensive end and the draw. Guessing she would prefer to play in a man to man defense. Anybody hearing anything out there?
Re: Transfer portal
Who stays at place for 4 years that does not like it? Why would her sister go there as well.
You guys make no sense at all.

Re: Transfer portal
That’s what seemed more likely to me, too. And it seemed like a good place to end her career at UNC after winning a national championship and multiple ACC titles - it would seem like she has some closure on her career at UNC (no “unfinished business” to come back for). That’s why I asked if it was first hand knowledge. And even so, Stix makes a fair point too.Brownlax wrote: ↑Wed Jun 07, 2023 4:12 pmMaybe UNC did not have the graduate program she was looking to enroll inwlaxphan20 wrote: ↑Wed Jun 07, 2023 3:11 pmJust curious, do you know first hand that Nicole was unhappy at UNC?

Re: Transfer portal
i don't think that's accurate at all. She was very happy at UNC. was a regular starter over some more talented freshmen. had a career year. Has a national championship and was instrumental in getting the Uber talented youngest Humphrey to UNC. Her transferring seems more academic related. The entire Humphrey family loves Levy. Which is why i thought they were all going to end up at UNC. and i actually think at some point that may have been the plan until recently.

Re: Transfer portal
Not to toot my own horn but i called this since last year. She was just too good of a player to be wasting away in the talent sucking black void that is Stanford women's lax. Had Nicole stayed at UNC i would've stamped them as her destination but now who knows. UNC is still a strong contender

Re: Transfer portal
Don’t Ashley Humphrey and Wurzburger play the same position?
Re: Transfer portal
Pretty sure she will be attending Stanford in the fall and graduating in December. She will start her lacrosse career at her next school in 2024.hmmm wrote: ↑Wed Jun 07, 2023 9:57 amFinishing her degree at Stanford this summer and moving on. 2 years of eligibility left.LaxPundit07 wrote: ↑Wed Jun 07, 2023 9:25 amI would hope a kid that close to graduating from Stanford would stick around to finish her degree. Re: Transfer portal
Maybe she wasn’t offered a 5th year at UNC and she was upset about it…….
You do realize that several posters here are pretty plugged in to what goes on in women’s lacrosse right?

Re: Transfer portal
Interested to see where Ashley goes because not a lot of top schools need a feeder.
NU - Coykendall
BC - Davis
Cuse - Ward
DU - she wouldn’t fit their style of offense, and they have Dineen & Penoyer
UNC - Wurzburger & a lot of other feeders
JMU - could use one but Epke & Morgan return
ND - depends on Wolak returning or not
FL - could use her if LoPinto is gone
Loyola - Latch & Wills
UMD - Clevenger
Not that any of these schools couldn’t use another feeder, but not a lot of feeders graduated this year.
