Latch, Black, & LoPinto would be a formidable trio. Wills had a great year last year too and Ruby is a solid player. Boyle in the midfield too and Corolla back from injury.

Lopinto will be visiting Maryland on Monday. Coach Reese is a tremendous recruiter.

Honestly the move doesn’t surprise me much. She played 4 years & got her degree from UNC, won ACC championships & a national championship, and now has the opportunity to experience something different & go to graduate school. It seems to me like there isn’t much unfinished business left for her at UNC, at least that’s what I’d think of I were in her position.
Agree and seems logical. A great chance for her hard work to put her in a position enjoy something new. As I mentioned in an earlier post, this scenario is only one of many that are behind these decisions. At its best, the portal empowers these athletes to expand their horizons. Best of luck!

Jen Adams is as good as they come when sitting across the table from you. No disrespect to Cathy, but she isnt the only one who can recruit in the State of MD.

The Australian accent alone would convince me!

This is incorrect My

Does it depend on the school? If I am remembering correctly, some years ago, more than a few, but less than 20, Maryland (I think it was Maryland) announced that they were guaranteeing scholarships for four years. I didn’t know anybody who went to Maryland around that time, so all I have is the article, or at least my memory of it. I’m sure there were conditions attached, such as keeping your nose clean, but my understanding was that they weren’t going to cut your scholarship due to athletic performance. I remember asking some people about that and was told that Maryland wasn’t the only school doing it. Maybe the situation has changed since then.
Lots of confusion on here about NLI vs NIL

NLI is national letter of intent which is a binding agreement for a student to receive athletic based aid from a school. Typically signed winter of their senior year of high school.

NIL is name, image and likeness and colloquially used to talk about the money a student athlete is earning from a third party to promote a product, etc.

When I was in D1 coaching last, the NCAA had passed legislation to allow for a four year aid commitment. Key word “allow”, not “mandate”. Schools could offer a four year commitment but were not required to do so. Any other than this was simply a one year agreement for aid. Renewed yearly. 99% the yearly agreement was renewed all four years anyway, but you get the point.

A previous poster made a point about % commitment in aid vs a dollar amount. I ALWAYS offered a dollar amount. This essentially meant with the cost of attendance rising yearly, I was ensured to have new scholarship money being pumped into my budget every year despite not eliminating any players money.

Hope this helps.

It's a shame she is leaving Rutgers but if she lands anywhere, hopefully it is JMU!

And despite all of the "riches", this math doesn't change...a plethora of High level HS talent since arriving in Chapel Hill in 1995. So, 28 years and 3 National Championships = Underwhelming? I'm not making this up people. These are called Facts.

Could just be nothing, but the only lax account on instagram that she follows other than Rutgers, is BC.

I think you're missing some context to that argument. Levy didn't really start landing top level recruits until the mid-2000s. Megan Bosica in 2006 was the first #1 ranked player UNC landed in program history. Before that UNC was a middle of the pack program with good but not great recruits. You can make an argument that recruiting wise programs like Duke, ND, and Virginia all recruited better players. Not to mention these were long periods of MD and NW domination with teams stacked with HOF players. Move the time frame from 1995 to 2005 until now. That's 18 years. What other programs other than NW and MD has had more success in that time frame?

If you are looking for underwhelming results based on top 5 recruiting classes every year since before The Civil War….I believe you should be talking about the men’s program at UNC. Sick lax bros every year. Top 5 classes. One natty.
Jenny has done a great job there. Joe, and John before him, not so much.
