Long Island 2023
Re: Long Island 2023
The Farmingdale goalie was superb.
Re: Long Island 2023
2 minute unreleasable had no impact on the game. Shot clock is probably coming. Not sure what the rest meansKeepitfair wrote: ↑Sat Jun 03, 2023 9:02 pm Need a shot clock in high school. Need to find a way for discourage face off kids from going early. 2 minute unrealeaseables. Other wise they will go early all day.

Re: Long Island 2023
Sounds to me like he is suggesting a 2 minute unreleasable penalty for going early on faceoffs. Something tells me this idea will not get much traction.
(It also sounds like he thinks kids are winning faceoffs by going early. However if they are winning the faceoffs they clearly are not being called for violations).
Re: Long Island 2023
Adopting the NCAA rule of a 30 second penalty after 3 violations would be fine. 2 min unreleasable is very harshfordmaddoxford wrote: ↑Sun Jun 04, 2023 9:00 amSounds to me like he is suggesting a 2 minute unreleasable penalty for going early on faceoffs. Re: Long Island 2023
Girard is so good it can actually look like he goes early but he's not. Like many great athletes he is so smooth and quick that it looks too easy sometimes. Not even sure that's who he's talking about but it would be a good guessfordmaddoxford wrote: ↑Sun Jun 04, 2023 9:00 amSounds to me like he is suggesting a 2 minute unreleasable penalty for going early on faceoffs. When was the last time either Nassau or Suffolk swept the LICs?

Agreed. 2min non releasable for a faceoff violation would be overkill. Receiving a 30 sec penalty after 3 violations (per a half) seems appropriate,LI13 wrote: ↑Sun Jun 04, 2023 9:18 amAdopting the NCAA rule of a 30 second penalty after 3 violations would be fine. 2 min unreleasable is very harshfordmaddoxford wrote: ↑Sun Jun 04, 2023 9:00 amSounds to me like he is suggesting a 2 minute unreleasable penalty for going early on faceoffs. After watching yesterday's game, I'm hoping a shot clock is on the horizon.

Ipolitti is going to Syracuse.kr522 wrote: ↑Sat Jun 03, 2023 6:52 pmIs the goalie going to Duke? I probably shouldn't be surprised, I knew little about Farmingdale which is my own fault, bevause that's a very good teamflyerfan17 wrote: ↑Sat Jun 03, 2023 6:46 pm Girard and Ippoliti are two of the most dominant players I've seen. Imagine that on the same team...
Re: Long Island 2023
So Ippoliti and a middie on Farmingdale both transferred back from private schools this year, playing key playoff roles. Hopefully more kids who are playing minor roles on the All-Star teams known as St Anthony’s and Chaminade follow suit in the future. Although Chris is wishing this started next year

I just hope we can partake in the transferring back thing in the future!kr522 wrote: ↑Sun Jun 04, 2023 5:14 pm So Ippoliti and a middie on Farmingdale both transferred back from private schools this year, playing key playoff roles. So long as they remain members of Section VIIIthedisciple516 wrote: ↑Sun Jun 04, 2023 11:14 pmSo Cold Spring Harbor is officially part of Nassau for lacrosse purposes ?

I believe they are part of Nassau County Section VIII for all sports, not just lacrosse.thedisciple516 wrote: ↑Sun Jun 04, 2023 11:14 pmSo Cold Spring Harbor is officially part of Nassau for lacrosse purposes ?
Geographically, they are located in Suffolk County on the borderline with Nassau County and are part of the Town of Huntington which is also Suffolk County).
Re: Long Island 2023
It's worth noting that kids from Lloyd Harbor, in Nassau, are zoned for CSH. So it's not a Suffolk-only district.Kismet wrote: ↑Mon Jun 05, 2023 7:19 amI believe they are part of Nassau County Section VIII for all sports, not just lacrosse.thedisciple516 wrote: ↑Sun Jun 04, 2023 11:14 pmSo Cold Spring Harbor is officially part of Nassau for lacrosse purposes ?

Also, if CSH ever joined Section XI, it would not play many league games against nearby Section XI schools because most of them are A in lacrosse and AA in 5 class sports. They'd have to travel out to the Hamptons way too often.

Perhaps that explains why they are where they areLI13 wrote: ↑Mon Jun 05, 2023 8:39 amIt's worth noting that kids from Lloyd Harbor, in Nassau, are zoned for CSH. Not to quibble but just so the record is correct Lloyd Harbor is, in fact, in Suffolk County, Town of Huntington. Wikipedia and no less a source than my sister who has lived, and more to the point paid taxes there for many years, are in agreement on this.LI13 wrote: ↑Mon Jun 05, 2023 8:39 amIt's worth noting that kids from Lloyd Harbor, in Nassau, are zoned for CSH. I do believe that for years CSH did play as a Suffolk team. It was found to be impracticable. Purists, as such as myself, may not approve but a special dispensation seems to have been given.

Oh man you are right. Why did I think it was in Nassau?
