I was confused with Devine and eastern Connecticut vs Eastern. Devine sounds like a great choice for eastern (a Christian school)

Damn. Knew this day was coming soon but still surprising.

Many thanks for Coach Long for many years of contributions to the Ithaca College community.

Going to miss Coach Long, won't be the same watching the Bombers. Class act and wonderful mentor to our son. Congratulation on a great career!

The list of candidates with interest and that will be applying should be pretty long (no pun intended). That being said, he should be on the (very) short list of guys at the top who are leaders in the club house who Ithaca should consider, especially as an alum. Would be a slam dunk choice IMO.

So just curious …. How does everyone rank the available positions? I see Ithaca as 1a and Haverford as 1b (could be convinced to switch them potentially) … and Catholic as 3.

Lycoming maybe a diamond in the rough?
Any comments?

Lyco is headed to the Landmark and that may turn some off. It seems to be a revolving door there since Peluso left years ago. Williamsport is a complete dump, but I agree with you Lyco could be a good job.

I see Catholic as the most attractive job out there right now.
I have always thought that with the right coach Catholic could become a powerhouse D3 program. Good academics, great location and a manageable AQ every year, weather is fine. I don't know if the admin supports the program, how they pay the coach, whether the facilities suck, etc. Carlini is good, facilities look - from the photos - a little small and dated.
Catholic needs to find a guy that wants to be there, and stay and build something great.

I wonder how attractive the Haverford job really is. I get they play in the Centennial but the last several coaches have had very little success. The AD they had when they were a top 25 years ago is long gone and I am curious how committed they are to winning. I think with Catholic having a new AD coming in would certainly make them an attractive job. They have several quality returning pieces and if the right coach comes in and recruits they can be a perennial top 25 team.

Haverford has had 3 coaches in the past 7 years, who have all left on their own accord. It is not a good job.

Interesting take. I just assumed was good opp. Good school - good conference - good location and in “hotbed” of top HS programs - InterAC. Just shows can’t assume anything.

In my opinion based on tradition, location and competitive chance in their conference.

Ithaca

Catholic
Haverford
Lycoming
Eastern Connecticut
