Now I love those cowboys, I love their gold
Love my uncle, God rest his soul
Taught me good, Lord, taught me all I know
Taught me so well, that I grabbed that gold
I left his dead ass there by the side of the road, yeah

Yeah I love me some liberal arts but a Econ/European studies undergrad double and mba after. As artistic as Mr Roboto. And my HS Spanish is trash which is why I once spent $40 instead of $14 on a gift for a family member in Peru…which I thought I had negotiated down…but my sister who was effectively a third parent, 12yrs older than I, was a drama undegrad and masters student (grad) and directed stage at ART in Boston and Berkeley Rep Theatre in NoCal for a bit before becoming a full time mother and eschewing a job at columbia working for Julie Taymor back in the day/. So she was making me read Basketball Diaries and the Stranger in 6th grade, Persecution and Assassination of Jean Paul Marat as Told by Marquis De Sade was my seventh grade forced read. Heck she made me read Maus when I was 9.molo wrote: ↑Thu May 18, 2023 9:59 pm I must not be the only English major here. Unless, of course, you read Camus en français as we had to to meet the language requirement at the U.
I’m guessing the tat shop was in el barrio gótico or perhaps in el born. Cornell have been in el raval, that would have been pretty edgy the, especially in the lower part, el barrio chino.
Tattoo: It was from a guy named Hernan just off La Rambla near Paul Guell (sp? The gaudi bldg off the main stretch to the water). A girl who spoke far better Spanish than I who I met at the hostel took me first to another spot down in a more touristy area and they had a conversation I couldn’t follow where they guy looked at the printout of the cover from the book I got from an Internet cafe and apparently told my girl that given the level of detail there and size I wanted that he was the man. For all I know it was more like “f this dude I met and he’s cute and we are partying but he has no dies what he’s saying so do what you want with him” but it worked out bc I don’t regret it one bit and it is pretty damn good. Musculature in calves in detailed lines and I can kind of see but told the facial expression under the Boulder is really good, etc even if I can barely ever see it myself. But after the trip, being in Czesky Krumlov during 9/11 and everything else on that journey it seemed appropriate to permanently scar my body, the symbol of the finite and degrading which Camus would reject as freedom doesn’t come from the physical but rather inside and intangible. It seemed like a dope narrative at the time. Now I’m old but don’t regret anything. My kids lacrosse team were amazed by it when I had to change a shirt mid game once though I was sort of embarrassed because I was afraid some of the parents might think I’m some kind of manic which obviously everyone here knows is not the case…

Re: Coaching Carousel 2023 - D1
I was being sarcastic with my earlier comment about Simon Conor going to Queens college and taking his Delbarton pipeline with him, so I guess every Delby lax player goes on to play at elite Div 1 & Div 3 lacrosse programs. I just thought that anyone who is an assistant lacrosse coach is aspiring to be a HC at his own program someday & to call all the shots, 16 years with the same program and not one single Big East championship, it might be time for a change down on the main line

Another response that thinks everything is bianry and not a spectrum.
Try weighted avg value or weighted average probabilities for a change.

Probably comfortable at Nova I presume, he is an alum. Maybe if one of the local jobs opened up he'd be in the mix but otherwise you never hear his name.

Wow, what does that say about club programs if a solid college coach leaves for what can only be explained by more money?GaitsRightHand wrote: ↑Tue May 30, 2023 2:47 pmJoining the club ranks at True Lacrosse. Good luck to him, Jake Deane is a POS.

Yep. And True is up there with Team 91. Buying programs and invading other states. $$$ talks and $40k-ish from jax probably doesn't have much to say.Exlaxbro wrote: ↑Tue May 30, 2023 3:02 pmWow, what does that say about club programs if a solid college coach leaves for what can only be explained by more money?GaitsRightHand wrote: ↑Tue May 30, 2023 2:47 pmJoining the club ranks at True Lacrosse. Probably time to ask, will we see one of the Final Four Assistants leave? Will Coach Dino or Corrigan retire? Does Nd keep its staff together?

More importantly is Duke stupid enough to let Coach D hand the job to his son and set that program back a decade?

Callahan leaving Dart
Dartmouth Parts Ways with Callahan After Nine Seasons
After nine seasons, Dartmouth has parted ways with head coach Brendan Callahan.
“Dartmouth College is a great place with great kids and our alumni have been phenomenal during my time and I can’t thank the players enough,” Callahan told Inside Lacrosse Friday night. “The program is the best place it has been in years and is poised to take the next step in Division 1 lacrosse. I look forward to seeing what these young men will do in the years to come.”
Dartmouth finished the season 6-6, highlighted by a 10-9 overtime win vs. Harvard on March 25. It was the Big Green’s first Ivy League win since 2015
Callahan spoke to IL’s Matt Kinnear the week following the win, describing his outlook on the program, the effect of the 2020 and ‘21 shutdowns on the program and more.
Callahan’s tenure ends with a record of 25-71. The team appears poised for future success, returning its five leading scorers and star face-off specialist Mitchell Myers.
Dartmouth joins Queens as the two men’s Division I lacrosse programs with head coach openings.
