When the rankings come out tomorrow, I will do the same analysis based on the raw data - so you can see what is being used for the comparisons. Indy's SOS numbers have to go up substantially given they have played Rockhurst again, but so will Abbey even more playing both UMO and Stone. But they definitely win on record and region record.CharlotteLaxDad wrote: ↑Tue Apr 30, 2019 9:17 am Given Belmont Abbey beat Indy and has 2 losses against the The number one team in the country; if Indy loses to Limestone will Belmont Abbey move back into the number two position?
They should should they given SOS and head to head?
There is some question if Indy actually moves into the #2 position given that Abbey's SOS is so high, and the fact that multiple criteria rank on the basis of something related to SOS (record against winning teams, SOS, region SOS, region RPI)...Even in my KRACH numbers the difference between Abbey and Indy in RRWP (Round Robin Winning Percentage) is quite small. Add a loss to Stone, should that happen, and you have a good chance of seeing Abbey in the #2 seed at the end.
