Definitely a nice late-season run for Holy Cross. As far as I can tell this is their first winning season, at least since 1991.

Patriot Coach of the Yesr just went to Toomey.

Not sure how coach of the year went to Toomey. They were predicted to win Patriot League. Holy Cross was supposed to finish 8th, not 5th.

These awards seem to simply go to whomever has the best record and points. HC clearly made the most improvement and did the best with what they had. It almost minimizes the value of the

It sure left many of us confused who were going by the PL front offices original assessment. Their website subtly admits the error by putting a date stamp on headline of the article.

Yes, if you look back to that set of scenarios, there is a glaring error. In a 3-way tie at 4-4, they say that Bucknell gets the 5 seed due to its win over #2 Lehigh. Then they say Navy gets the 6 seed due to its win over #3 Boston U. Both of those would be correct EXCEPT that they have ignored the fact that for Holy Cross to get to 4-4, then they would have to beat Lehigh in their last game. And if that happened, they would be in the same position as Bucknell, with a win over the #2 team. Both then would beat out Navy.

Yes, games among PL teams are the first few tiebreakers. However games against OOC opponents are never used in an unfair way. If it gets to that, the rules state that the only games looked at to break the tie are those where every tied PL team played the same common OOC opponent(s). So if not all of the tied teams played a given team, then that game would be deemed irrelevant.

Actually, Loyola has won 4 of the last 5 PL championships, but Toomey has never won Coach of the Year. It does seem reasonable to recognize that he's doing something right.

I agree that the criteria for the award aren't clear.

Or today. I think this game is at 3 pm.

I'd like to see Army and Bucknell win strictly because of some friends having kids affiliated there, but I also want BU to win so the Hounds can get payback on them.

Be careful what you wish for. I rewatched the Loyola/Lafayette game, and if Loyola plays a quality team like BU the way they played Lafayette, they will get blown out by epic proportions. The Hounds really need to clean up the sloppy careless play on offense. Surprisingly, the defense is finally starting to gel, but the offense can't execute lately.

right but then look what BU's coordinated team defense did against Spencer and the passing lanes. Then again, team couldn't catch, grab a GB, get into an offensive flow the whole game

Army up 7-4 over HC at the half. Boys are getting a little chippy, got a feeling this is gonna be a pretty intense 30 minutes.

12-4 now Army with 5 minutes left. That defenseman #40 for Army is the real deal. So tall and quick.

HC just can't catch a break in this one, and they won nearly every FO I saw (which goes to show you that you do not need to win FO's to win a game in D1; it certainly helps, but it isn't a requirement...of course, it helps to have Army's defense).

Yes sir, Army D just shut HC down in the second half. Finally scored one at the 13:12 mark of the fourth.
14-5 final (Army had two or three on open goal shots..GK out playing D)
Nicturn (sp?) with six assists, threading the needle on a few...pretty.
Army 3 for 19 on face offs. Face offs wins games!!!!! Well, not so much.

Pulease Houndace...let's go for BU. Payback time, beeeotches. I don't want Army or Lehigh. I want BU. Put Gray on his keister. C'mon. If you want to be the best, then beat the best. I want to be the best.

And after BU, I want Duke. Then I want Yale.

I agree at their peak BU is scary but they also went and lost to a Navy team that is quite frankly not that good especially on offense. I think Loyola will have a better scoring day at Ridley if there is a rematch.
