Good luck to Idaho women. Two of eleven maternal-fetal specialists have already left and according to one of those, five of the remaining nine are soon to follow:
“Back in Idaho, Miller says five of the nine remaining full-time maternal-fetal medicine physicians in the state will have left by the end of this year.”

... I reported on this ^^^ story a week or so ago. Yesterday saw an interview of AMA President, says Idaho is having trouble hiring physicians of all types. Red State race to the bottom. No doctors but luckily ivermectin cures everything.SCLaxAttack wrote: ↑Sat May 13, 2023 10:24 am Good luck to Idaho women. PS: Just came across a CNN video describing the situation with updated news on the situation. Idaho is in the process of passing a law that will make it difficult / impossible to track deaths of women due to birth complications. Lawmakers are trying to bury their mistakes. The republiCON death cult at work.
CNN Video.

YA, as I mentioned in a post yesterday, you've got to expand what you look at when you're on-line - especially if you believe a particular article or video might be wrong. If you had for this particular post, you'd have found numerous articles and videos that mention the specific reason for these doctors leaving is because they don't want to have the high probability that some Idaho prosecutor will prosecute them for performing some mom's-life saving or uterus saving procedure (e.g. D&C) that the Idaho elected officials have, in their infinite wisdom, determined is an abortion procedure.youthathletics wrote: ↑Sat May 13, 2023 11:13 amSO that means they only were only staying for the money in abortions?SCLaxAttack wrote: ↑Sat May 13, 2023 10:24 am Good luck to Idaho women. Re: The Abortion Thread
On a technical matter a D&C can hardly be considered an abortion. The fetus is already deceased and it becomes necessary for the mothers health to remove it from the uterus. I have no idea how this procedure is considered an abortion.SCLaxAttack wrote: ↑Sat May 13, 2023 12:24 pmYA, as I mentioned in a post yesterday, you've got to expand what you look at when you're on-line - especially if you believe a particular article or video might be wrong. "A D&C (Dilation and Curretage) is the most common method of early abortion. This method is simple and considered the safest and most convenient way to end an early pregnancy. A D&C procedure is routine, considered safe and will not affect your ability to get pregnant in the future."
My daughter miscarried twice before finally taking a child to term, and required D&Cs both times. Idaho physicians are afraid to do procedures like this that could be misinterpreted, so they're leaving that state.

I have. This is the second time you'd made a comment like this, supporting laws that stick it to poor women who can't escape your control. The first comment was where you want to economically punish women for getting divorced because you've figured out that you prefer the 50's, where women couldn't get jobs, rent houses, start businesses, get credit, etc. In other words: they're financially bound to men, and aren't free to make their own decisions. Why you support that, is beyond my understanding. I respect your beliefs, but I'm left wondering if you've fully thought about the consequences of your line of thought.
Do you not empathize with how scary it is that while pregnant, the doctor and the woman aren't making the calls anymore? YOU are. You and the folks who support these laws, and the packed Courts that support them.
Which means, of course, people of means like my family would give birth overseas before I'd give YOU the keys to my family. And I have the means to do that, and would rather sell my business than allow someone to make health choices for my family. The poor? They're squarely under your thumb. Doesn't that bother you?

What did I say that was wrong? Did you, or did you not say that you want to have the government make it harder to get divorced?
And now here you are reading stories of women who can't afford to leave getting stuck without 1st world pre natal thru birth care in Idaho?

... if it is early weeks (first trimester - roughly) it is in most cases not necessary. Still it is recommended as a prophylactic to put the issue to bed while a physician is present. Very much early, first ultrasound, can’t recall maybe 4-8 weeks. We actually have/had pretty good coverage but it wasn’t covered or fully covered I recall. Wasn’t a money decision we just wanted to get out of the drs office at that point I think. They didn’t push it or suggest there was anything meaningful health risk to us. This is about 6-7 yrs ago now as the kids were in the 1-4 range. Don’t think we had bad care but that was the experience.jhu72 wrote: ↑Mon May 15, 2023 9:10 am... if it is early weeks (first trimester - roughly) it is in most cases not necessary. ... like I said in that time frame the probability of complications is very low. We had a D&C when my wife lost one after two months. I don't recall whether she was given a choice or not. First pregnancy - probability of losing fetus goes way up.Farfromgeneva wrote: ↑Mon May 15, 2023 9:24 amVery much early, first ultrasound, can’t recall maybe 4-8 weeks. Still it is recommended as a prophylactic to put the issue to bed while a physician is present. Confirm until we came back). So in certain cases it may be a health issue but we were advised that it generally isn’t one.
It is definitely a traumatic experience for most couples.

Without the traditional adjective laden verbose colorful description FFG occasionally employs, let me just say I saw it in the toilet and had to flush it as my wife is sobbing. Go with the D&C!jhu72 wrote: ↑Mon May 15, 2023 9:39 am... like I said in that time frame the probability of complications is very low. We had a D&C when my wife lost one after two months. We had our first two “clean” ironically, if you could call them issues, the boy was sideways coming out so we pulled it one week before schedule and couldn’t do natural birth and because the first was C section they refused (pretty much) to do the second natural which came two weeks ahead of calendar due to lower fluids but both came out 7-9lbs and otherwise fine. It was that one that didn’t work out.
Now I love those cowboys, I love their gold
Love my uncle, God rest his soul
Taught me good, Lord, taught me all I know
Taught me so well, that I grabbed that gold
