The goal with the pole literally in between his legs early Q2 was pretty impressive.

Re: Tewaaraton Finalist
He had a productive game, but didn't appear like either team played much organized defense today. I am not expecting that to be the case, next weekend. Shellenberger looked much healthier today and also ended with 6 points as well, running Virginia's offense. One of these 2 can forget any remote chance at Teewarton after next weekend. some AA individual defenders will also be playing in Bowen, Saustad, Kaestner and Sallade, maybe others in addition to all the offensive studs.

Touche! And another great performance from Dordevic yesterday. I'm a Hoya fan, so believe me, nothing would make me happier than to get the opportunity to see that matchup on Championship Monday and be proven wrong.Antonio114 wrote: ↑Fri May 12, 2023 4:47 pmFortunately we have some tape on that and...well...check out 8:09 in this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nDA4zkEjnU8random observer wrote: ↑Fri May 12, 2023 11:58 amDordevic wasn't even the best player on his own attack line for the first half of the season. Even now I would put a lot of money on Adler to completely erase Dordevic if they were matched up on each other.Creasedive wrote: ↑Fri May 12, 2023 10:15 amAdler ahead of Dordevic is ridiculous. No defenseman has the impact a pure scorer has on a team. Give Adler the Schmeisser. He deserves it.MDlaxfan76 wrote: ↑Fri May 12, 2023 10:01 amI agree with this fundamental point. It's supposed to be "outstanding player"...that's nearly always an attacker, but it shouldn't be the automatic assumption that an attacker is the most impactful player for their team, best in the nation at their position as well.DMac wrote: ↑Fri May 12, 2023 9:16 amMen and women.Creasedive wrote: ↑Fri May 12, 2023 8:36 amThe love affair with Adler is a bit much. Great player - but the award goes to men who scores goals. He doesn’t. Move on.DMac wrote: ↑Fri May 12, 2023 7:37 am Bottom line is it's bullschidt that all five candidates are attackmen.
How many of those five candidates do more on the field than Adler
does? He affects games every bit as much as they do but he doesn't
have a bunch of goals, so no Tewey consideration for him. Both sides,
men's and women's, all attack. The committee needs to take a look
at that. Look up Tucker Dordevic's number of GBs, number of TOs,
shoots damn near every time he touches the ball, rarely throws an
assist but the committee sees him as a better player than Adler.
It's garbage.https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tewaaraton_AwardThe Tewaaraton Award is an annual award for the most outstanding American college lacrosse men's and women's players,
How 'bout we start recognizing the award as a goal scorer's award rather than the most outstanding player then?
And to think that there are 5 attack that qualify as such more than any defender, midfielder, goalie or FOGO seems wrong. The ultimate winner of the award may well be attack...
I think for the men's side, two from Cornell may have seemed a barrier, moreover other outstanding defenders may have muddied the waters...but I definitely had Adler ahead of Dordevic.
Dordevic is simply not the best player at his position.
He could even have the most outstanding tournament, but that wouldn't make him the best player at his position.
Funnily enough, I think in a hypothetical Georgetown/Cornell matchup, there would be reasonable doubt about whether to put Adler on Dordevic or Minicus (the latter of whom was the only player to really dice Adler up last year when he was playing for Colgate).
Re: Tewaaraton Finalist
Fun fact for all the Dordevic haters out there. He has scored at least one goal in every game over the past two years. The last time he was shut out? Ironically, in the first round of the 2021 NCAA tournament against Georgetown. Five shots, three on goal.

What did Kirst have today...I counted one goal?
Re: Tewaaraton Finalist
He’s out of the running now with a 1st round loss.
Re: Tewaaraton Finalist
2 goals one assist. 20% shooting. Michigan keyed on him, as they should. He’s an incredible player. Unless the other fellas flame out going forward, he took a step backward today in this Tewey race, unfortunately. But he’s only a junior, so his time will come this year or next.

I promise I’m not Dmac. He’s a good dude, but I live in Virginia. We support the same program in case that’s what you’re alluding to. Otherwise I don’t know him. Thanks.

They’re not the same at all. I’m quite sure. DMac wouldn’t bother setting up an account to argue about Spallina early in the season and has been around since early-mid LP.ny10458 wrote: ↑Sun May 14, 2023 5:32 pm"I swear I don't know him guys, but he's a cool guy."Finster wrote: ↑Sun May 14, 2023 5:29 pm
